I am mostly an HSN shopper. As it has more youthful items. But all the articles I am reading it seems HSN will be consolidated heavily with this building merger.
They say we will hear more in March, and then will broadcast in QVC studio by quarter 3 later this year. And HSN1 + HSN2 will still be on the airwaves as normal.
It will be a tight fit given HSN operations will have to squeeze into QVC studio. QVC might take control of everything jobs wise and HSN might just be given a wing to keep it a seperate identity. I see see sets shrinking to make the fit.
I also don't see the broadcast channels being around in 5 years. Everything will be streaming on facebook, youtube, tiktok, Q app as others have said. Read each platform might be its own studio. It will be hard for Q demo to switch over to streaming exclusively. My folks aren't that computer/smartphone savvy. Q might have to ditch the 50+ demo once everything goes to streaming and open back up to all ages.
But that might be a positive, it would allow more brands to possibly be brought in. One thing I read from everyone is Q's lack of variety. Everything is a house brand or celeb. It would be nice to see more youthful items and clothing on the Q.
With both companies sharing a building it could allow more sharing of brands outside of the basics like vacuums. We could see Iman or Rhonda Sheer on Q, and Gravel and Graver on HSN. If a guest is in studio they could walk back and forth between sets and sell their item. Twice the viewers, twice the sales. And if reps in FL don't want to move to PA they can use skype. Most guests are skype nowadays anyway.
I don't really see HSN behind the scenes people or models moving to PA. Some hosts might move. I see Q hosts pulling double duty. And bounce between studios. I see Q2 going away for consolidation. I also see Q models being used for both.
Will the change be negative or positive? I am sure lots of people will lose their jobs but so many people work remote today it might balance out. Will streaming allow for more variety and brands? When do you see cable ending to go 100% to app/website? This change was bound to happen to compete with other places, as everyone shops online vs TV. What changes do you think will happen? Will Q50 go away? Will more dresses be shown instead of PJs? What are your wishlists?

I have heard nothing about streaming, at this point it's just speculation. I do hope they keep the hosts, and that the vendors will continue to make their live appearances as well. It's what sets QVC/HSN shopping apart from everyone else, and is what has made them what they are. As for the move itself, it does make sense in many ways. I belong to the blog/forum chat community there as well, and have heard that this move has a lot to do with the frequent hurricanes in Florida and the damamge it has caused, as well as the increasing and high costs of insurance as a result of it. I can attest to all of that as I live and own here. Any kind of insurance is much higher here, and we have been through two hurricanes in just the one year we have been here. Since the last hurricane, houses for sale listings have exploded here, and this is a high tourist area. So, I think this is the main motivation in moving their operations out of Florida.

I'd love to read about your stock market predictions!
(And maybe technical and medical advances in the next five years...)

QVC is a losing business and has been for years. Their president has said they are moving to streaming/digital and already can be seen on Hulu and TicTok. Cable is in trouble. Millions have cut ties with cable and are use streaming channels. I'm about to do the same.

I watched HSN first in the late 1980's early 1990's I guess--basically from the beginning, and QVC which my mom got and I didn't.
I have not watched one show from either since 2016. I haven't been in a store to shop in at least 5 years. I shop online. Haven't been in a grocery store about 4 years--pickups and deliveries only.
It's just the way the world changes, really fast. I do the best I can, enjoy the memories and make the best of what we have at this point in the adventure. I go back to one or two black and white channels and an antenna.

Do people actually care about the sets? Not me, I focus on the product being sold. Only time a set matters to me is with Valerie Parr Hill, because her items are displayed everywhere.
I'm going to refrain from speculation about logistics with the move. Doubt it would happen if they couldn't make it profitably work. It's probably one of the very few positive business decisions they've made in years.

Just a note to clarify for anyone who isn't familiar with how streaming works: They'll still need cameras, sets, hosts, crew members, and probably vendors (just to name a few of the requirements) to film/record and broadcast shows regardless of whether the distribution of the content is via over-the-air, cable, or app/online channels. The main differences are in the ways the customers access the content, not as much in the ways the content is created (especially for these established home shopping networks).
I have seen a lot of people comment in various posts with worries about how different regular TV and streaming are and how difficult the adjustment from one to the other will be, but at their cores, these technologies are pretty much the same: You turn on a device with a screen (TV, tablet, phone, or computer) and go to the place that provides what you want to watch (channel, app, or website). There may be an extra click here or there with a remote control, screen element (button), or mouse to find a specific piece of content, but overall, the process is basically identical.

@loriqvc thank you. The original podt full of ignorant speculation.

Not true. Influenceres, celebrities on social media, and guests on news programs featured from home use streamlined, modern, technology and need nothing like the cost
and size of a TV studio.

I really don't like streaming. It is not cheaper in cost for me. I can't easily change programs temporarily if I want to block content or a particular individual I don't want to see like I can with the traditional television broadcast. I can only mute the sound. It's also more difficult and time consuming to scroll through lists of programming to find something I might want to watch.
