Along the same line, I have noticed hosts who claim to have "used Product X since I was 15."  Next show, same host claims she only uses "Product Y" and has never in her life had to use any other brand.  I'm never sure if I think they are outright lying or maybe we can call it dissembling.  As usual, we need to be good consumers.  Buyer beware.

I won't ever buy his things for that exact same reason.

@Spurt I have heard the Luminara vendor say the same thing and take a dig at Candle Impressions. That too turned me off. Actually something about Janine turns off. I turn the channel whenever she is presenting anything on the Q.

I wonder what that Luminara Vendor would do if a customer called in and talked about the declining quality of Luminara, the battery box falls apart, not many hours of battery life, etc...and then say how much they love Candle Impressions LOL!

@Grouchomarx

To my way of thinking, they all get paid enough to sell their products without demeaning or badmouthing another product or style.

I haven't watched DB in years, but that is another reason I quit watching most shows altogether.

One hour, they loved this or that...next hour, it was out of favor.  They use it, they don't use it....

Seriously?  If they are SELLING it, why not just focus on the positive attributes.

It all = NO SALE to me.

It's all about the bucks and making a sale.

The last Luminara candles I purchased were a set of 2 glittered pillars. The whole bottom of the candle falls out when I lift the candle to clean it or change the batteries. I don't think I'll purchase any more of them.

I can't stand to listen to Dennis Basso. I either mute him or go watch or do something else. He was talking over Leah like crazy during a presentation last week. I also don't like it when they disparage other types of clothes to try and sell what's presented. I'd like to think shoppers are keen enough to know it's a shady sales tactic and just buy what they know is their style and what flatters them.
