Re: What In The Heck Are They Doing???

@Desertdi.  How are they going to make a profit if nobody buys anything because they can't return it?

The whole thing doesn't make sense.

Re: What In The Heck Are They Doing???

I've noticed a few items in home decor which they have discounted with no returns. Can't chance it!

I've bought quite a few items with no return and been perfectly happy with them. Mostly lounge sets or a garden item.

If the price is right.

@Kachina624      I have no answer except "Nobody talked to the accounting department before they did this"......

Re: What In The Heck Are They Doing???

@Kachina624 - I noticed this a couple of days ago.  I think it's just yet another glitch in their computer system.  I always check the prices of things I've bought for 30 days after.  And I saw some Cuddl Duds that I paid $18.99 for, go up to the full price of $54.50.

As someone who worked in I.T. for 25 years (Analyst/programmer), it just always makes me think who the h*** do they have working for them.

Whenever I see something like this, I always remember that old tech adage:  GIGO.  "Garbage in, garbage out".  And whenever I hear someone blaming the computer system (retail stores, businesses, etc.) I tell them, it's not the computer, it's the human behind it.

I'm sure some work with antiquated systems, but even they can be made to work correctly with attention to detail.  JMHO.

But who knows?  Maybe the Q's computers are self-programming!  Woman Frustrated

@Kachina624 @cheriere A company's worth is increased with a higher level of inventory. There are situations where that is advantageous.

Re: What In The Heck Are They Doing???

I'm getting so many incentives from other retailers that there is no need for QVC.  And as for the bogus coupon for free shipping, even if it worked, which it doesn't for me, saving $3.50 is a big deal????!!!!

@On It   @Kachina624   @cheriere Distressed (aged) inventory is a loss.    They could have scrapped it for a lower price, and taken less of a loss.

The higher prices will show a higher inventory level on hand than lower prices would have.

@On It.  Is that a good thing?  How would they benefit?

@Kachina624 Maybe they had a shipment that had some issues or lots of returns, will clerance that and bring the latest batch at a higher price?  Maybe selling broken sizes at clearance before restocking with an incoming shipment?

Re: What In The Heck Are They Doing???

Here is the reply I got from Wayne at the QVC Social Team:

I’m so sorry, but the items are converted back to QVC pricing because of major restock on these items. I hope this clears any confusion you may have concerning the decision that was made.

Here is another reply regarding the no return:

I’m so sorry for any confusion, but this is intentional and not a programming problem. The “no returns” messaging will be removed from the product description for these items also. Hope this helps.

If this makes any business sense, I must be living in an alternative reality. IMHO, I thought they were in business to make money not loose business.
