Times have changed and QVC has had to adapt. QVC isn't the only place to shop at home anymore. My guess is QVC is selling what most people want to buy and what makes them the most money.

It seems to me if the Q would stay with Quality, Value and Convenience they would do well as they have in the past. All three of their motto appears to be lacking more and more. When that's gone, your business will suffer. This latest S&H/Return scheme, seems to show no intention of keeping customers happy. For all the Q's attention and desire to be "family like," the opposite is true. Add to this, the fact we're seeing less and less new vendors is making their shows dull and boring. Instead of new vendors and merchandise, we get a bunch of hosts trying to be funny. I've bought many many nice things from the Q over the years, and it's sad to me to see it decline.

I do not think there is any need to be so nasty with your comments.![]()
And I agree. I remember when they would go state to state and get new vendors and products. I watch the Q because I do like all the info provided with an item, things I might not buy if I did not hear about it. Some of the hosts are very informative with the descriptions.

Bitter huh...

Agree.
Also, people's tastes change..times change..the economy changes. There are many factors.
For me, there are many programs I simply do not watch because they do not interest me...NOT because of the host, I find that I can get the items elsewhere a lot cheaper and generally with free shipping.

Now with Dyson, beds, Dell computers, etc., these things come directly from the manufacturer. The Q is just an infomercial for them. They get the orders and then give to the manufacturer. I miss the old Q too. They use to have unique items, shows from the orient and Germany. No more.
ITA. It's all about inventory control. Why not pass it off to somebody else to store the product. Just let QVC sell it. That's genius if you think about it. Clear out those shelves but what to do with the empty space?

I could be wrong, but what I think happened is, QVC wanted to cut out the middle-man and sell their own brands, in order to get the most profit. That makes business sense, but I miss the old days when we had so much more variety to chose from, and not the same old rehashed items again & again. Most of the brands now for sale on QVC are, in effect, their own brands-are they not? I'm thinking of things like GILI, Cooks Essentials, Temptations, etc. If they are not the sole owners of the brands, then they at least must have a very special deal with these individual companies, & I would imagine QVC is a major share-holder with much say-so, in each. I imagine their contracts with these companies are fine-tuned.
I'm not business-savvy, so don't shoot me for anything that might be erroneous. This is just my impression of what may be happening, is all.

I, too, miss the "good ole days" with QVC. If you're looking for Polish Stoneware, go to EBAY. There's a seller in Texas that works out of a Polish Stoneware warehouse and I've ordered several pieces from him. Excellent prices and fast shipping.
