I need an explanation of what a ""well behaved woman"" is.

Did anyone see clips of Michelle's "dance-off" with Ellen D? A lot of people think she's not as "well-behaved" as she should be for a FL, but I think what she's been doing to try and get kids to eat right and exercise is one of the best things she could do! They're the future of our country and they need to be healthy... and if it's not fun, it doesn't get their attention! Smile (Besides, she's a good dancer!)

I saw a clip. She's a great dancerSmiley Happy

I love this quote.

"Well behaved" back in the day meant staying quiet, not having your own opinions, and not rocking the boat. Aren't we glad we didn't listen? {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

{#emotions_dlg.thumbup} And we have many women who went before us to thank for not behaving{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Re: ""Well-Behaved Women........."" ?? What??

People need to push the envelope sometimes, and it's usually NOT the timid who are helping change.

When I was about 8 years old, I read something about the Roaring 20's and Flappers ..... and I innocently asked my grandmother if she was a Flapper and danced the Charleston.

Well, she got a rather indignant look on her face and told me "absolutely NOT" ..... and back then no self-respecting girl would ever be seen on the dance floor, wearing a dress that showed her knees when she danced! Horrors!!

It's funny now, but she was quite serious. {#emotions_dlg.unsure}
