It's almost like it's the Q's own sanitized version of the whole Bachelor/Bachelorette thing... I don't watch those either. Heaven help us if on top of the obsession with 'social shopping' the Q decides to make regular forays into reality TV...

Or when The Today Show had those weddings where you could vote for everything from the ring to the cake to the dress to the honeymoon.

Re: Wedding as Corporate PR Event

I think it's a shameful display of what should be a very personal time for Courtney and her soon to be husband. Weddings are now a major industry when even couples of modest means spend lavishly for one day. Of course, now every girl has to outdo her friends when it comes to weddings. Unfortunately, many of these lavish weddings don't produce forever marriages.

DH and I eloped, no wedding at all. No gifts, nothing. We started out with just the clothes we owned and a few odds and ends like a set of old dishes and glasses. Next year we will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. So, a high priced lavish wedding doesn't insure a lasting marriage.

I so agree. The wedding was Saturday and she is already back at work on Monday and Tuesday. QVC should not have been involved at all. Noticed Pat is now calling her ""Mrs. Courtney"". Not that again like they did with one of the models.

Congratulations, that is awesome.

You are so right, look at the example of Kim Kardashian's wedding to Kris Humphries.
