Watching shopping channels less

I decided to give myself a break and not watch QVC as much.  Actually it's been great because less $$ on my Qcard and I really don't miss it.  With all the changes going on and high prices it's not enjoyable as in the past.

On another note: Couldn't sleep and watched HSN and Curtis Stone. He could charm the socks right off ya.

And no,I hardly ever watch shopping channels.

I only watch if they're selling something I'm interested in.  Do NOT watch for "entertainment"!??! or to have "background" noise!??!!

So many better places to shop than the shopping channels.

Re: Watching shopping channels less

I haven't "watched" in years.  In years past I had QVC on all day long and enjoyed it so much but that is no longer the case.  I shop via the website and will watch the Valerie Parr Hill shows and maybe a gardening show depending on who the host is but for me most of the hosts are unwatchable.

Re: Watching shopping channels less

Some days I am watching on my laptop if there is something else on television I want to watch. Depends on the show.

Re: Watching shopping channels less

I watched a lot of shopping networks until 10+ years ago. It's hard to watch Q now.

Products are on constant repeat.

Hosts are too busy acting out and telling personal stories to give all the details.

Q's CEO wants shoppers to feel like family. We're not family. We aren't friends or acquaintances. Hosts are sales people on tv.

I have no desire to listen to a host's podcast. There are too many good podcasts and audio books available.

Shopping channels are going to streaming. I stream but don't plan on streaming a shopping channel. Streaming alone won't improve Q but it might save them money.

Re: Watching shopping channels less

I used to watch shopping channels alot. AM style and PM style, every time they were on. Not anymore. In fact, I don't watch at all. If I see something interesting, I might watch the presentation video. I do not purchase many clothes from the shopping channels because of the price. I can do better at Macy's, LLbean, Lands End, Costco, and Sams Club.

Re: Watching shopping channels less

I have been watching less QVC TV for several years now.  It's lost it's fun and appeal for me.  It's loud and cooky and pretty much all the same stuff regardless of the designer/vendor.  It's boring.  Which isn't to say I don't shop with QVC because I do.  I'm just selective about what I buy and I shop QVC com or the App.  I get the notifications so I do know what's happening.  I just don't watch  complete shows.

Re: Watching shopping channels less

I agree that it certainly has changed over the years.  I'm quite curious how things will go with HSN broadcasting from the Q studios.  I like both channels and have gone back and forth over the years.  I like HSN more these days and feel like that will never be the same once they makes these changes.  Lot's of the hosts I enjoy will not be moving to PA and I just don't think the Skype thing will do very well or last very long.   I do stil keep one of the channels on in the background but I mostly just sit and watch the shows I like with the hosts I enjoy........I'm still enjoying for now until it goes away at some point.   I don't spend nearly the money I used to which is a good thing.
