I purchased something on ebay on November 27. Seller, located in Placentia, CA, mailed package via USPS. UGH!
Last notification was on Dec 3 telling me the package has been delayed. Nothing since then. EDD December 3, then changed to December 5.
Here are the tracking notifications found on Ship24.com.
Notice Newgistics is shipping my package from California to the NE.
If you are not familiar with Newgistics, USPS' third party shipping partner, ask me about it.
I used Ship24.com to see if there is more information on this package than on USPS. Yes, there is a lot. One important thing I learned is Newgistics is doing the delivery. Not on USPS tracking.

@Foxxee Nothing Newgistics puts on tracking would surprise me. They are clearly already way behind and are stalling for time in their creative manner. Your pkg must be moving from one side of the warehouse to another. Hope it's not needed for Christmas.
Have you noticed that only you and I appreciate the genius of this organization?

Yes, just thinking about that. No one else interested.

I really appreciate your mentioning of ship24. I haven't heard of this before. I ordered a Gravel sweater an entire month ago. It finally arrived at my local post office, but I don't have it yet a whole month later. At least I know it's close by LOL. I am on the other side of the country than you, so different shipping companies involved. Ship24 showed me that my sweater went back and forth between UPS and USPS many times without moving any closer to my address. Very revealing. Thanks again!

If the notification doesn't say Accepted by your local post office, your post office might not have your package.
Newgistics is notorious for using language that makes it sound like it was delivered to the PO, but it's still at their facilities.
One example: Look for "Delivered to or arrived at your local Post Office when Newgistics really means it needs to be delivered.
My Postmaster told me, packages that arrive are processed right away. They don't sit there for days and weeks, so all delays are caused by Newgistics, not the Post Office.

@PhilaLady1 My guess is your sweater is lost. I'd contact the mods with an order # and request a replacement/refund.

@Foxxee @PhilaLady1 My postmaster told me the exact same thing. He said they don't have room to accumulate and hold packages. They're delivered immediately.

Thanks, I think I will wait until Monday and will then contact the social team. Tracking shows as of Dec 08, received at my
post office pending acceptance, which may or may not be the truth. It's a small local post office with maybe 2 or 3 people working there with a lot to sort this time of year.

I worked in a post office for several years after retiring. I also ran a huge corporation's incoming/outgoing mail departments for a number of years.
Newgistics is not owned by or run by USPS. It's an entirely separate shipping entity that is run and owned by third parties and moves packages from place to place.
Newgistics is a cheap way to ship things. Follow the money to corporate profits.

- Newgistics entities don't make a trips that aren't profitable so packages can sit.
- It's also slower than molasses most of the time. It also can haul mail to out of the way places, again, because they aren't going to make a trip for just a couple of packages.
- It's also the lowest priority mail for USPS delivery so it can sit in a bin with other newgistics deliveries once it reaches your local USPS office too.
Newgistics is a cheap way to ship things. Follow the money to corporate profits.
May I add, Newgistics was started to deliver return packages for retailers. QVC uses it.
Pitney Bowes purchased the company a few years ago because they wanted to get into shipping. Now Newgistics is also into delivery. It's operating as an independent company separate from Pitney Bowes, the same way QVC is under Liberty Media.
USPS is partnering with Newgistics to deliver it's packages to local post offices.
There's no doubt it's cheap, but I'd rather pay more to get my packages on time, not $10 more as QVC charges to upgrade, though.
