Ugly Colors in Paired Items

Why do they always have to have one pretty color and one ugly, blah color in the paired items. Like the Marvelush scarves for example. A nice navy paired with chartruese green, ugh. And a lovely pink paired with a boring camel. I wish we could pick our own color combination. I see this happen with shirts and tops too. Does anyone else feel this way?
