***URGENT***: Guys PAY ATTENTION To your Q Account! ***URGENT***

About 10 days or so, I got a text message from Synchrony Bank about a QVC purchase for almost $700, I was like huh?  I haven't ordered anything from the Q since early this year.

Then right after that I got a order confirmation E-Mail from the Q for an IPad lol, I was like WTF is going on?  So I immediately called up QVC and spoke with customer service, they said the order had just been done over the phone minutes before hand and it wasn't by me and nobody else has access to my account or lives with me.  If it hadn't had been for the bank text and the QVC order E-Mail, I would have never known.

The scam here is the scammers will order things under your account, have them shipped to your addresss and then contact the carrier after it ships, to have it rerouted to some other location, so they can pick it up (according to QVC's fraud department anyways).  I don't know how they got access to my Q account but I had to go in and change everything on it, get a new Q card...the whole works!

Wanted to let everyone know.

@Drewps5co0tt  Someone simply hacked your credit card. Can't believe it's never happened to,you, I only have one major credit card and it's been hacked at least 4 times over the last few years. If you have a good credit card company they will see the warning signs and alert you before any damage is done. Then they issue you a new card with a new number. You should ditch that card and request another one if you haven't done so already. Criminals today are much more savvy than ever before. I'm always on line checking both my credit card and my debit card accounts for anything suspicious. My bank also has an app which is tied to my debit card and I get alerts for every transaction made. It can be set with any dollar limits per day you want or within any geographical limits as well. I have my credit card company's app as well all on my phone. Highly recommend these apps, and most companies banks have them.

I hope you called Synchrony and had that card closed and a new one issued.

Everyone should be cautious about where credit and debit cards are used. Scammers are watching, ready to pounce.

Watch all your cards carefully every day because it's very easy for scammers to get access to them. I suggest having no more then two or three credit cards and have alerts on them. I was charged for a bottle of expensive perfume charged on Zulilly and I don't have a account with them. And be very careful to open attachments in your emails because if it's a scam it can ruin your computer. If you get a phone call and it looks strange on caller ID let it go to voicemail. And one last thing, check carefully any purchase you make on Facebook. Not necessarily Marketplace but the ads on your pages, if it looks too good to be true trust your intuition and don't purchase it. I've been stupid twice and had to do a dispute with my debit and credit card, it's much easier to dispute with a credit card then a bank debit card. The scammers are out to get us so be alert always!

Your bank should be able to allow you to set notifications for any charge over a certain $ amount that you choose ($100, $150, $200?). When a charge is made, you'd receive a text/email telling you that there is a larger amount than what you allowed charge, and it will ask you if you want to allow it to go through. (if you're charging something large yourself, you need to be ready to text or email that it's okay.)

But, I also agree with the poster who said that you should get a new charge card number. And then consider putting the above precautions in place.

@Drewps5co0tt   Most likely the same place the scammers have to my nonexistent accounts at Amazon and Paypal and Geek Squad.  The latter 2 have mostly disappeared, but there must be a site on the dark web where the scammers get their information because I've been buying the same product for the same hundreds of dollars and cents over and over again!.

I've probably had 2 or 3 dozen of those scams while scams to accounts I actually have during the same time period -- just 2!

I'm compulsive about checking even the accounts I have frozen.

I recently had a fraudulent charge on my Amazon account. I check my accounts daily. This is from Synchrony Bank. I disputed the charge and was sent a new card. The charge has been removed . The charge was for Logic G Force. I didn't even know what it was. No one had acess to my account.

So many desperate souls trying to scam innocent people. It does make one wonder how they get access. I wonder if Synchrony had their system compromised.

@Drewps5co0tt Sorry for this inconvenience. It is such a pain to go through this situation.

@KittySoftPaws is correct. This can happen with any credit card you have. I am surprised this is your first time. You're pretty lucky. I've probably had one of mine hacked 10x in my life. My husband had it just happen 2 weeks ago. It happened to be the card he has auto pay on so that is a real hassle.

You can receive alerts for all transactions on many cc. I advise you use this service. It has saved us even more problems by knowing immediately of a fraudulent purchase.
