On USPS numbers why don't they give you a number that is TRACKABLE??????  It always says label not received yet if you try to use the USPS SITE !!!  You can only track it through QVC which is not up to date and not as detailed!!!

WHAT IS UP QVC????

I called CS about this.

It appears that they leave off the 1st two digits.

In my case it was "94"

When I added them, the USPS tracking info came up on the USPS site.

USPS tracking # can also start with "92"

Customers shouldn't have to guess. Smiley Sad

I, too, had this problem for just a few of my orders.  Yes, the problen was that the first 2 numbers were omitted.  Don't know why this has happened.

As other people have noted here, you can typically get the up-to-date USPS tracking information by adding a "92" or "94" before the number provided by QVC. This is actually a standard practice for bulk shipping, so although it should be more transparent, it's not the fault of QVC for once. Smiley Wink

P.S. When using the QVC return label, you also don't get helpful tracking information once the "return agent" of USPS or UPS has picked up the package. You can get at least a few useful details by entering your tracking number on the Newgistics tracking site: http://tracking.smartlabel.com

That way, you'll at least know your package is still progressing rather than just waiting for two weeks until QVC confirms that it has received the shipment.

Re: Tracking Numbers????

[ Edited ]

I see this thread originated back in February but I'll add some information I've posted on other threads over the years, in case it's helpful.

Some websites have complete, up-to-date info to track their shipments, but others don't.    A few years ago I started using the free tracking alerts from the 3 major shippers and found that I get better info this way.   In some cases you can register your name and address several different ways, to be sure it's recognized.

Then, whenever the shipping site sees your name/address entered by a vendor, it triggers alerts for you.

I receive email alerts when packages are sent and delivered (and all the activity when they're in transit).   Text alerts are available, too.   Shipments requiring a signature usually give a heads up about this in the email, prior to delivery, and often will allow me to sign online if I choose.

Here are some links, for those interested.  (please copy and paste -- I'm never sure which hyperlinks are okay, so these aren't "clickable"):

I just get a receipt from the PO or UPS when I drop the package off so I have proof of the date I gave it to PO/UPS as well as the  "real" trackable tracking number.   While I've never had a problem, it could happen any time.

I remember not too many years ago when there was no such thing as tracking a package.  Everyone was calm, cool, and collected.  The packages arrived in good time and nobody got hysterical.  Sigh.
