This thread topic was started by this OP in multiple places on the board.

Is that a bad thing? Maybe OP wants to reach a large number of readers. I don't see the point of bringing attention to it.

Re: Tracfone REP gulps when a real question is asked.

I actually saw this part of the presentation. I did not think the sales rep acted poorly at all. She said she had never received that error, and in fact, it could be due to a lot of different things related to wifi and not the phone at all. I don't think we should expect a sales person to be a technical guru who can answer any random technical question anyone asks, particularly in this instance where so many factors could come into play. I get connection errors sometimes on my computer but I am not going to call HP - they in fact would be the last company I would call if I had connection issues and this is pretty much the same thing IMO.

Re: Tracfone REP gulps when a real question is asked.

I did not see the moment in the presentation referred to in the post. Why? Because I made the enormous mistake of buying a Tracfone on an earlier TSV in 2013 and the mere thought of watching any Tracfone sales jobs again makes me ill. True, it's not the job of the rep to answer technical questions on air nor, as others have said, would they have the necessary expertise. Let's just say based on my experience neither does the Tracfone customer and technical service staff. Won't go into all the details of my experience, but let's just say it ended by my getting a good smartphone with a reliable company polished off by taking a hammer to the piece of junk Tracfone and feeling quite happy. Just Google Tracfone and customer reviews and you'll find I'm not alone in my experience.

Similar to my experience. Tracfone markets to people who have either never had a cell phone at all, or those who have never had any kind of smart phone. Their smartphones aren't very. They are the very low end, technology and capability-wise. If it's super cheap there is a reason. People say they love Tracfone because they don't need an expensive phone. Okay, but bottom-of-the-barrel phones are not a good investment, no matter how many talk & text minutes you get. My last Tracfone was the LG 840G. It was just "okay" as a phone - until I attempted the major Android update that was pushed out. Right in the middle of things, it froze and, and basically turned into a brick within 8-10 hours and fried itself. After some consideration, I bought an iPhone. I'm very happy with it. I'm sure a comparably featured Android phone would be equally as satisfying. And no, I do not pay a huge sum every month. I have it on a PAYG plan for smartphones that is cheap for the knowledge that I have a mainstream provider.
