Re: Too early for Christmas decorations at the Q?

I welcome this type of early holiday programming; here and other places! It puts me in such a festive mood! The weather here is rather chilly these days, so that adds to my enthusiasm!😊 The tree is BEAUTIFUL!❤️

Re: Too early for Christmas decorations at the Q?

Of course it's too early for Christmas decorations before Halloween, but they do it every year and clearly have no intention of stopping.  I personally find it off-putting and watch even less than usual but I assume I am in the minority. When I was growing up, the holiday decorations went up the day after Thanksgiving (this was before the hideous  invention of Black Friday), and to me that will always be the right way to do things.

I don't watch, so I don't care, but if I did watch--it's October.  It's basically two weeks until holiday season.  People in our hood light up the house a couple weeks before Thanksgiving.

So yeah, it's time, no need to discuss because that's the way the world is now and get used to it. . . Woman Frustrated

It was way too early in June and it is still too early.

QVC is knows their fan base and is love with a particular vendor, so there are items being bought.  Just not by me.

The stores around me started putting out Christmas items a month ago.  I can hardly move through the aisles now with all the stock they have out.

I have only three more gifts to buy and I will be done, except for getting Christmas candy for the stockings.  Waiting for the Halloween candy to get taken off the shelves first.

This Saturday at lunch with my family and grandchildren I will be giving my DDIL this year's new ornament for their tree.  She puts it up every year a couple of days before Halloween.  Me?  No I wait until Thanksgiving afternoon.

Re: Too early for Christmas decorations at the Q?

I totally get what you mean! It does feel a bit early for Christmas decorations, especially with Halloween just around the corner. But it seems like retailers are eager to get a head start on holiday sales. Some people love getting festive early, while others prefer to wait. What’s your take—are you all for early decorations, or do you like to stick to the traditional timeline?

Re: Too early for Christmas decorations at the Q?

We had this department store, Lechmere, when I was a kid that would have a small forest of Christmas Trees put up in October. I loved it. We would all be psyched for the Sears "Wish Book." And I remember these ads for Christmas music compilations. I was a kid in the 70s, and I've never seen retail waste any time. The fourth quarter is retails bread and butter, so it behooves them to get a head start.

I think so.
