Re: Too early for Christmas decorations at the Q?

Way too early for me (I  like x-mass in December!!! )  so I do not watch or pay any attention to all the Christmas hoopla before then...  Takes all the specialness away IMO.  So overly hyped and commercial and it gets worse every year.  Terrible.

So much to shop for at this time of year and not necessarily holiday decor. I shop for things I can use all year long because there is a great selection.

I think December 25th is too early for Christmas decorations. Smiley Happy

Christmas is a big trigger for me. I go to Mass and a family gathering and then ignore the holiday. I'd love to skip the whole month of December.

Re: Too early for Christmas decorations at the Q?

I am at the point in my life where I don't care anymore.  Christmas isn't Christmas.

It's now a holiday for retailers to make money.  They try to excite happiness and prompt people to spend, spend, spend.

This is not what Christmas is about.  It's a darn shame that some children and young people have never and will never experience what Christmas is all about.

It is supposed to be a Christmas holy day.

I won't buy into this holiday krap.  I don't plan on buying any holiday decor.  I have enough already.

I don't care what other do, including QVC. I just won't be joining them.

For myself, it's fine.  At that time of the year some people start to worry about the cost of the holiday and there are reports about people who become very depressed on the holidays.  You can't  stopped the holidlays from coming; but there is no need to start the season two months before the event....just a thought.

NOT TOO EARLY FOR ME San Antonio Gal.

IF IT MAKES YOU HAPPY AND IN A FESTIVE MOOD, I SAY GO AHEAD AND DECORATE!  ALL THE STORES ALREADY DO!

IT WILL BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT!

@San Antonio Gal

I was first introduced to Christmas in July when I worked for Linen's 'n' Things one summer when I was at university. We received all of the Christmas merchandise in July, but we didn't put it out until much later. I used to smell of Christmas potpourri for a few days Smiley Wink My father would complain about smelling cinnamon.

As for now, I don't celebrate, but others should do what they wish when they wish.

Re: Too early for Christmas decorations at the Q?

It seems every year the stores in QVC start earlier. I think it takes away the magic of Christmas! By the time Christmas arrives, I think everyone's tired of seeing it all.
It's no longer a short special time of the year

Re: Too early for Christmas decorations at the Q?

My favortie time of the year is Autumn so I wish they kept some of the Autumn decorations up for a bit longer.  However, I understand for retail purposes they don't.

It seems Autumn/harvest is only shown briefly in August/September.  Whereas the other seasons are shown for much longer (Spring, Summer and then the holidays).
