OFCOL! they hire the same type every time, the man is just a younger, better looking version of DH and the same blond females, only younger.

I couldn’t disagree more, the last group of new hires I can’t think of one blonde among them and that certainly isn’t the case for most of the current veterans, who are mostly excellent.

The last group of rookies, I don’t know if it’s because they still lack skills, but I turn the channel off every time.

Surprising because you would think there would be a super pool of candidates.

Kristine Zell and Mary Nelson are both blonde.

Mary Nelson and Cathy P. were professional QVC hosts immediately! Both have easily hosted a variety of shows with poise and grace. They have excellent use of the English language and are able to communicate effectively with quests. Such a joy to watch them.

Can think of two hosts (one newer and one fairly long-timer) who need additional training or their walking papers. Both are unbearable IMO.

This is a perfect example of different strokes for different folks.  I do not like either of these hosts and I think both of them need voice training.

Mary Nelson has a terribly shaky voice and draws out every word and almost every sentence ends like a question.  Cathy's voice is annoying to me and I dislike the way she drops the "t's" in words like button and cotton.

I don't think it has any relation to other current hosts leaving.   In the past year and a half or so, several hosts left (Jacque, Dan Wheeler, Albany), one of the new hires is no longer here (Alex).   Also, as other posters said, there are 3 channels of programming -- even though some of it is prerecorded -- so they need more hosts than ever before.

December seems to be contract renewal time so we shall see.  There is one host that I'm betting isn't going to be here after December.

Mary Nelson drives me crazy when she starts clapping her words in her presentations. I feel like I am in kindergarten watching her.

I wish the Q would hire more hosts like Jayne Brown and Carolyn Gracie and Antonella Nester! They bring tremendous value and expertice to all of their shows. And, they let their humor show Smiley Happy

OMG! The last thing we need is another screamer like Antonella! Humor, schumor! They're television salespeople, not stand up-comedians.

And who would that be? It's rude to drop hints like that and not give out so much as a clue.

Naming names would probably get the post expunged and eventually the entire thread shut down.  Feel free to speculate to yourself......I have.

Just a personal gripe, but I won't be watching the new guy.   For some reason a British accent gets on my nerves.   Of course I hardly watch QVC anymore anyway.
