Re: The future of the Q Forums?

Personally, I'm surprised they're still here.  It has to be an expense that produces very little income.  But then, I'm surprised QVC is still here.   Wouldn't miss either of them.

Re: The future of the Q Forums?

I really appreciate the fact that QVC has maintained these forums, and I regularly read the posts on it. I also order things -- admittedly only now and then. I think that is the least I can do, considering that QVC  "pays the bills" to keep the forums running. Of course, they do this to bring in customers but,in view of the fact that they wanted to shut the forums down, it must not be cost-effective for them. I think that people who read and REGULARLY post on these forums AND glibly comment that they NEVER order anything need to realize that they are free-loading on a company having some financial difficulty during the current recession. At a basic level, it just is not fair not to order anything, at least a small item, now and then, if not a more significant purchase.

Re: The future of the Q Forums?

Hey now, I get a lot of my news from this forum.  No need to shut us down.

Plus, we help each other in so many ways.  It's a great place to communicate and we just may end up purchasing more items from QVC.  It's possible! Cat Very Happy

Re: The future of the Q Forums?

@Q-Checker   If QVC offered quality items at reasonable prices like other retailers do I would buy more here.  If they feel they are not getting "bang for the buck" I'm sure they will shut it down but I'm not buying just to keep the forums open.

Re: The future of the Q Forums?

@San Antonio Gal  Good ? as I know they have been hoping more users go to their facebook group which I don't think they have.

I know they have said the forums won't get any new categories & IT is lacking at times.

I do not think the forums are monitored so when suggestions are given I do not think they get transferred to management.

I have had very good customer service when I send an email to the Mods when they are able.  I do think when the Mods are able they do shut down some of the more contentious threads.

All in all I hope the forums are able to continue.

Re: The future of the Q Forums?

@Q-Checker   I have have the same thought many times about posters bragging about never buying anything from QVC and the many degrogatory posts about hosts, prices, shipping, etc.

That is not the purpose of the forum.  It is a place to exchange interesting information and talk with one another, not a complaint session.

It is a wonder that Q does keep the forum at the expense to them.  All the complaining and visiting forum but never buying does not do those of us who support QVC and enjoy and appreciate being able to visit the forum any favors.  If Q does eliminate the forum at any time, the above reasons would be at the top of the reasons for eliminating it.

Re: The future of the Q Forums?

I'm happy it is still around because I learn things and get help when I have questions. Another forum was created when it looked like this one would be shut down. The last time I was out there, it was just me and two others. Having 200-300 people posting at any given time offers countless possibilities for discussions. QVC might save money if they ditched us, but I think they would lose in other intangible ways.

Re: The future of the Q Forums?

I enjoy the forums very much but have a hard time believing Q is paying to keep them open out of the goodness of their heart.

They must be getting something in return especially since the are paying the mods.  Maybe management does read them from time to time we really don't know.  Such a small number actually post vs the customer base.  @Foxxee posted some disturbing numbers as far as member usage.  Keeping my fingers crossed we stay around.

Re: The future of the Q Forums?

My guess is the forums will be around for a while longer.  How longer is anyone's guess. QVC is not putting money back into the business of running it well . Their IT department is something to be desired. So I don't think these forums are high on the list of things needing attention.

As someone up thread mentioned. When Q starts selling quality merchandise at reasonable prices maybe than I'll start purchasing again as I once did, but I won't hold my breath on that one.  Purchasing items just to keep a forum going...a resounding No.

Re: The future of the Q Forums?

@San Antonio Gal

I'm hoping they decided to keep them for the long haul.  I tried the other forum for a while, but it was just too much to keep up with.  I would rather be here on the QVC forum since I shop here, too.  My personal preference.
