The Q's delivery and postal handling

I guess I've recenly received the worst in 20 years. I ordered a white Joan Riverss t-shirt. It arrived in a inner plastic bag and an outer plastic bag.

It arrived all crunched up in a ball about the size of two tennis balls. The t-shirt looked like a ball of wrinkled rags. I felt like returning it immediately. A few minutes in the dryer will not do the job. It will have to be ironed.

Yes, it's only a tee, and it only cost $35.; however, it says something about a company that packages in that manner and in a way that has no protection, b/c it is the cheapest way.

This is not the first time. I've bought from HSN and have never seen such careless, cheap way to do business.

Re: The Q's delivery and postal handling

I have received countless tees from QVC, dozens literally, and I never received one that was a wrinkled mess.  If this indeed happened, it has to have been through postal, probably carrier, mishandling not something QVC did.  QVC doesn't make deliveries, contrary to the op's title.

That wouldn't bother me too much.  I wash everything before wearing anyway (once I decide to keep it) so that would take care of the wrinkles.

@laluzdelmundo    Arizona is where my packages go to rest and recreate for days on end, although its usually Tolleson, on their way to me from California.

Re: The Q's delivery and postal handling

Like santorini, I always wash every single item I purchase before wearing, whether from QVC, another online retailer or a department store. It doesn't bother me a bit what it looks like on arrival as long as after I wash the item it looks like new and fits well. In my opinion, I would prefer receiving an item bundled in a ball and pay less than have to pay extra just to have it arrive packaged nicely. I want it looking good on me, don't care what it looks like in the package. Just my preference.

I agree, it is kind of upsetting when you pay for a new item, you pay shipping AND "HANDLING" charges, and it arrives to you looking like a piece of garbage.

Of course, things happen, stuff gets tossed around during shipping, but some companies do such a nice job of packing and shipping their items, they seem to take pride in that aspect of their company.

Just my preference, but if I'm paying for shipping and handling, I'd like to get my item in a nice, fresh appearance, not some old ball of something that I have to put effort into before it's wearable.

Re: The Q's delivery and postal handling

I've gotten things in boxes from other retailers that end up in a balled up mess too.  The way they're thrown around in shipping now, half the time the boxes are barely held together by the time I receive them.

And my pet peeve is that in order to save money, most places only use one strip of paper tape to seal the box.  Often that doesn't hold if what's inside is on the heavier side.

Re: The Q's delivery and postal handling

Unfortunately that is how tees are shipped  usually in a bag and for $3.50  is still a good  shipping price. I order alot of tees, usually have more in a package thus more thickness and they seem to hold up  in shipping better. I have had wrinkling happen  a few times due to it being balled up. It washed up fine. It is disappointing no less, expecting a nice looking  new item for $35.

Sometimes the company or vender is at fault for not protecting your item and putting in a container or package that is appropriate to with stand normal shipping processes. VPH has some flimsy packing for fragile glass items as an example.  Under normal  ordinary shipping breaks  too easily and  becomes defective .

Today I had JM small box that looked like an accordion and was  heavily retaped. It was well padded and protected  but went tbrough  excessive abusive shipping  with the box getting crushed. Luckily the glass was ok and one cap was missing which doesn't affect the bottle.

At this point your options are to try and launder it  as suggested or send back with any luck  lately getting a label. I think Q though would credit you as defective.
