We should all just face up to it ----
I give these boards another 6 months - at the most - when the ONLY thing we will be able to discuss are QVC products.....and nothing else.
According to the Mods, everything must be sunny, happy, land-of-marshmallows, love-in, and we all have to sing Kumbaya....
Yes, the boards belong to QVC but the no-rhyme-or-reason attitude for deleting threads is nuts. Either do not allow ANY nasty threads OR allow them -- but don't just pick-and-choose arbitrarily and keep some on and delete others.
No doubt this post will be deleted soon -- because OH NO, I deigned to speak my mind.
Jeez......

@chi5925 I had hoped otherwise, but this place had become very much an engineered reality benefitting no one but QVC. And yes it's true, it is their prerogative. The new reality is allowance of all comments defending to the "death"some lines, or at least at the expense of some posters, creating sacrificial members. It it so ridiculous to even try to post your true thoughts considerately, beause they will be trounced by the mouthpieces of the Q product lines or removed by the moderators. They were generally doing a good job, but something changed. Maybe the whole tenor of moderation has changed after the loss of one recently? idk But what's the point of participating in forums as/with stepford members? I'm going to have to give it consideration, because it's starting to feel like a total waste of time.

IMO, any poster or posters who continue to create threads identical to a closed thread, make comments calling out moderators by name or in general, on the same topic or closed thread should be BANNED.
They are theoretical adults acting like tweens and should be held responsible and accountable for their temper tantrums. It's embarrassing to witness.

This week-end has been very challenging for the mods.

@skuggles I agree with you that something has changed and I'm just not interested in coming to the forums anymore.

I must admit that I am also confused as to how the moderators come to the conclusions they do about what is "unkind". If someone comments about a host or vendor's hair color and it is a compliment, the post stays. But if you make a comment that the hair color is unattractive, is that unkind? Or do you have to be dramatic about the comment, "ugliest hair color I have ever seen?" Is constructive criticism allowed, e.g. suggesting a host stop using repetitive phrases or give sizing information?
I understand the policies about profanity, political discussions etc. But the subjectivity regarding discussions on hosts and vendors is a little cloudy. Some discussion threads go on and on yet others are gone in a flash, almost depending upon the subject (host) of said threads. Perhaps if the policies were clearer, those posting would not be as upset about the deletions. And personally, I feel like a small child getting my hand slapped when I see that thread was deleted for being "unkind". Really? Why not say for "violating Board standards and policies". That seems more adult and less childish. And then refer to which policy, such as 3.14.5 or something like that. It doesn't sound like rocket science to me...

@cotto22 It depends on which show host is being discussed, some are protected to great lenghts and get poofed almost immediatly while others stay until they get really ugly.
Some posters get poofed more than others I use as an example a post that was made about a host that had an accident and it was not nice so I reported it. Nothing was done.
I made the same comment about another host that was injured just to see what would happen and poof mine was gone. So the host's and the posters are not all treated the same.

The web is loaded with places to speak one's mind.
I'm surprised that the Q allows as much as it does, lol. Every week there are posts full of slams on their company, complete with bandwidth using pics, etc. I wonder if they sometimes regret letting these boards discuss so many non-shopping topics. They have to pay mods, etc.
Anyway, I enjoy these message boards and I hope that most people can use them without all the drama.

I've reached the point where this place is no longer fun to me. We all have opinions and everything is not
to every person's liking. You should be able to express an opinion, even though you should do it without hurting feelings, and not get poofed!
