The Dreaded “Return” as a Gift

I just opened a set of pajamas that are going to be a gift. New when I ordered it did take a while to get here. But that didn't bother me.

So I opened the white bag intending to put them right into a holiday bag. The return label is on the front.

I'm going to wash them, but should I put them in another plastic bag, or should I put them back into the original bag?

What would you do?  TIA!   Smiley Happy

I wouldn't want my gift recipient to know it's a return that someone else may have tried on or even worn.   I mean it's fine to give if the item looks new but I wouldn't use the bag that states "return" on it.

@beach-mom  "I'm going to wash them"

Why in the world would you do that?  The recipient will think they received a "used" item that YOU wore & no longer wanted.

@beach-mom I personally would never want to get something "new" that someone had washed! I would wonder why. I mean, who does that?

Why are you washing them - are they soiled?  If not soiled or smelly, I would wrap in tissue paper and place in gift bag.  If you purchased them at a brick & morter store, it's likely they would have been tried on by someone.  Would you wash them as well?

I definetely would not gift those, I would call QVC and ask them to send you a new pair and put a rush on it, they should make it right.

No way would I give them as a gift, washed or not.  I would send them back to QVC and purchase a new gift.

Thank you everyone for your advice! I'm going to do what @mspatmac recommended. @spumoni99 - I like your idea too, but I've done something similar before and waited a long time to get a new one.

I wish there was something you could do to indicate it is a gift when you order, but that would probably be too hard to do, with as many orders as are processed.
