After a couple of very, very challenging years, I thought for the first time ever I had lost my excitement and feeling of joy for holidays. (And I have LOVED them my entire life...even have one Christmas room with a tree decorated in all vintage ornaments ~and that bad-for-us old tinsel~ that stays up all year...it has all vintage catalogs and toys underneath. In previous years, I have put up five trees during the season - and this house is not large by any means=) Last weekend I tried to watch another station's CIJ, but without much success. I didn't expect to watch much of QVC's CIJ because of this. But I have really been enjoying the programming...think they have done a great job. I haven't enjoyed this much of a shopping network's presentation in a long time. (But I know it just may be that they are presenting the variety I like...so realize it is just one lonely opinion=) Nice variety in selection, lots of new and exclusive items (not just items from previous inventory - some shows I've seen have featured ALL new merch.), sale prices (okay, they could always be lower, but every little bit helps and I have considered more than I normally would because of the special pricing), nice range in pricing, the extended return policy and they don't seem to be spending tons of time on just a few items. (As mentioned, I watched some of the CIJ on another shopping channel last week and they were constantly running 1/2 hour presentations of their special of the day...over and over. While I can appreciate that many love the items presented, there just seemed to be so little variety of themes or products. That could just be me, though. And I really like that station, too.) It has been a long time since I have watched this much of any shopping channel in one or two days. I went out tonight and was actually looking forward to turning it on again when I returned home. Don't know when I have last felt that way. Variety, special pricing, lots of new items, limited time spent on presentations, extended return policy...wonderful. (I must just have a short attention span=) And I have purchased a number of gifts, so some shopping is done, too. I really have enjoyed it and would like to "say" thank you to everyone at QVC who is making this a fun weekend for me. I have felt a little of the joy again. CIJ really is a gift TO me ~ thanks again QVC. (And my best to everyone on these forums who have helped provide much information and very needed diversions, distractions and smiles over the last couple of years.)
