Re: Tell Me About the “Old” QVC

@beach-mom   i'M ONE OF THE "OLDIES" WHO REMEMBERS THE QVC OF THE PAST.  ESPECIALLY THE STORE ON THE MOA PREMISES.

My girls and I always made a beeline for that place when the MOA was a fun and safe place to go. (The old days! Not now)

I remember particularly a live show with Nolan Miller, who designed fabulous costume jewelry as well as the high end stuff. He and Mary Beth presented his line, and when he came off camera, I approached him to tell him how much I loved his pieces. And I did and bought them, but that day I was wearing a Joan Rivers piece and he noticed and teased me. Such a sweet gentleman. As I recall MB was dismissive and ran out saying "where's the food?"

Am I recalling correctly that he had roses delivered to her on air?

@Mersha I remember Judy and Jeff. What a whirlwind relationship they had. Too bad it had to play out so publicly. He did leave QVC after but she stayed longer.

I think QVC is trying to create a social media experience with the way they sell. They are selling the host along with the merchandise. It’s not working. Most of us don’t want to hear about children, spouses, homes, or vacations.

If someone is interested in that they can go to their social media.

Exactly. If you want to know about a host's family you can go to their FB/Instagram page.

Back in the early 90s, you called up on a landline and had your little yellow member card with your account number.  I can't remember how they got payments.

I always enjoyed their jewelry shows on location in Italy.  Mostly with Lisa R. but they would be decked out in beautiful gowns and jewels.  Even when they did the shows locally everyone was dressed to the nines.

And packaging for any of your purchases was much better than these vinyl envelopes.

Yes I remember it well. I knew this was going to be her biggest mistake, I think everyone did. I just loved Jeff, what a fun guy, but not for marrying. Judy was so much in love that she didn't see the forest for the trees. I later saw where Jeff passed away, and was sorry to see it. I think Judy moved on and found  love. I felt sorry for her. I don't doubt the roses.

@HLP

This may have been addressed already, Judy married Paul Deasy, the gemstone guy host from QVC.

He also was on the QVC host Christmas songs, he wrote it and sang it, it was beautiful.

Ha!  He did seem a bit calmer but always with that funny edge.  Remember him with Joan?  Bwahaha!

Maybe it's all the working out and eating well that's given him this burst lol.

I watched QVC off and on back in the good ol' days.  I remember Judy Crowell and Jeff Hewson and Kathy Levine insisting on always calling him 'Jeffrey.'  Hosts always had a ruler handy when presenting jewelery to give measurements.  I remember Jeanne Bice and her signature headbands that she wore.

With another St. Patrick's Day upon us soon, i miss how they had the Irish pub sets and our friends from Ireland came here every year!  Steven Walsh is still the best on that day!

I'm not short...I'm fun size!
