Re: Tanners leaving dark spots on my skin - What suggestions do you have?

I use sun tan products occasionally, but they leave dark spots on my legs/arms afterwards.  Can anyone recommend a product to bleach my skin safely?

Apply hydrogen peroxide full strength on your dark spots.  Every day.  Several times per day.

Over a couple of weeks your dark spots will disappear.

I have used many self tanners and have never had a problem until using Isle of Paradise ... the self tanning drops you add to lotion or cream.  I won't use those drops again.

I had that happen as well. I used Josie Maran's sugar scrub and rubbed over the problem area a few times. I followed up with the Body butter and at night I used the First aid Ultra Repair cream. I have dry, sensitive skin so that's what worked for me. Good Luck.

I use my face exfoliator sponge (with soap) and do circular rubs--comes off immediately.

But to prevent, simply add any body lotion to those areas after applying the tanner (e.g. ankle, elbows, etc), this always works.

Re: Tanners leaving dark spots on my skin - What suggestions do you have?

You don’t get dark spots from self tanners. They are called sun spots or age spots. You may not have noticed them on non self tanned skin but they are/were there. As you age any damage you did to your skin in the past (exposure to the sun - not wearing sunscreen, etc) eventually become more pronounced. I have them on my arms and some on my legs from exposure to the sun when I was younger without sunscreen and from tanning beds. Self tanners darken the skin so it darkens the sun spots. In my experience as the self tanner west’s off the pronounced sun spots are not as visible but they never go away once you have them. There are very few products on the market that will remove sun or age spots because they are under the dermis layer. Products containing hydroquinone might help but it is only available in small quantities because of safety concerns. However if it has any effect at all it is temporary because once you have age or sun spots they cannot be reversed. You can Google avd do research.
