I don't get the point of having a TSV and then airing it so far ahead of time that it starts to get limited to the point that you start to loose colors.

Perhaps, some viewers may not  stay up to midnight, so the TSV is shown earlier.  People may be in bed by the first airing.  No harm, no foul.  If one is watching, what difference does it make?  Here on the West Coast, we see the TSVs at 9pm.

I don’t know the real answer to your question, but I think QVC likes to be able to say so many people have already pre-ordered it in order to make the item seem desirable.

Besides, since I’m a firm believer that Q employs the last order in, first order out methodology of filling orders, just because someone ordered ahead of time doesn’t necessarily mean they will actually get the item if a popular color. Very likely theirs would go to back order first.

It's not unusual to see the daily specials early/presale especially during this time of the year. I remember that to be the case for previous years.

I'm busy as are other shoppers - little time to watch the programs or to wait for midnight launches. Happy to be able to shop presale! And to catch free ship days for a presale is an added bonus

@rms1954  I agree.  I was thinking the same thing tonight (Monday), when they aired the Koolaburra cardigan TSV for, I believe they said Friday. Quite a few had already been sold and there was doubt they'd have all the colors by the actual TSV airing time.

While I can see showing the TSV early on the day it's to be aired, or if the previous TSV has sold out, I also don't get showing it so many days early.  To me, today means just that -- today.

I can remember not so long ago when the Q had that magazine (don't recall the name of it off the top of my head) that came out each month and had at least a dozen TSVs mentioned with many offered as presales.  It was nice to know in advance what many were.

However I did see the presentation last night of the Koolaburra cardigan TSV and they were mentioning colors starting to get limited.

@haddon9  yes, the Insider magazine featured many TSV's in advance.

It makes as much sense as having Black Friday for weeks on end including days of the week that aren't Friday. Sell and make money, that's all it's about.

Re: TSV's Being Shown Early

[ Edited ]

Fairness in having all sizes and colors available is not the objective.

Selling it out is.

I think the only point is to sell as many as possible.

I shop 90% online.  I check the 'New' every day and can see upcoming TSV.

I also get promo emails.

I PRE-order a LOT and have never, ever had my order go to backorder.  Many of mine ship even before the day of airing.

I realize it can happen, but totally disagree with the theory of last in, first out.
