What do you think of TSV being offered for 24 hours only from now on?  They have been mentioning it a lot.  No more advance orders of tsv's, and no second day chances.  I think this is how it used to be.

this is exactly how it used to be, it is going to be very hard for customers to give up that advanced visibility.

I do not understand their thinking.

[Some] People do not like to be pressured into making rash decisions. These days we want to study over products. There are too many sources out here that offer quality & value, not to mention faster shipping, and QVC is not the only retailer that we turn to.

But....I did like the option of taking a 2nd or 3rd look at something that was offered a day or so earlier. If they lose those sales, then I guess that is what they want.

eta: It may have worked back then when shopping TV was a novelty.

Re: TSV only 1 day from now on

Yes, the TSV was always unknown until midnight, for many many years. Knowing ahead of time definitely took away the surprise element. In my opinion, having advance notice gave customers more time to contemplate the purchase, maybe research and price check, no more impulse buying. Perhaps TSV's weren't selling as well being offered for several days instead of a true One Day Only price.  For those of you on the east coast complaining you have the disadvantage due to not being able to stay up til midnight, TSV's rarely sell out at the midnight hour. I have been with QVC since 1986 and I never had an issue with a TSV sold out before morning. I am very curious if they hold true to their current email stating more "unique" and "even better values". I am looking forward to seeing what they offer.

Re: TSV only 1 day from now on

Exactly the way it was years ago.  In those years I worked with no access to a TV or a telephone for most hours of the day.

Still managed to buy enough, but yes, sometimes products sold out hours before I even knew they'd been offered.

In retrospect -  no big deal for me,   And there are so many posters who say they've been shopping here for decades so they certainly have lived this same procedure.  Might work.

Re: TSV only 1 day from now on

In the 20+ years I've been watching QVC, I only remember buying 1 TSV, which IMO are neither "special" nor a "value."  So doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

it only works if what they have sell outs the day of the tvs

if not the rest has to be sold some way

Re: TSV only 1 day from now on

Then, on the other hand, there have been people complaining about their size and/or color of something selling out before the TSV even aired, or shortly thereafter presumably because of the pre-sales.

If it doesn't sell out on the day, I would assume the price and terms change and it's still for sale--just like what happens now.

There are a lot of changes going on here.  I think they keep throwing things against the wall to see what sticks, and if anything actually works.  I also think that "change for the sake of change" is a new trend everywhere.

It doesn't bother me at all.  I rarely bought anything on the pre-sales anyway.  And I'm cutting my buying across the board, so if I do bite, it's going to actually have to be a good buy.

Doesn't matter to me.  Did it once and can do it again.  It was more fun to be surprised.

I do wish we had two days to buy instead of one, but oh well.  Cutting back anyway.  Good for me.
