of our kind hearted members here.

I have seen an increasing number of posts wanting to know if clothing items are available.  I have a suspicion that the OP never searches on their own but wants our good hearted members to do the work for them.

I have ask for help finding things on here but that is AFTER I have hunted extensively myself.

Bless those that help with hunting down an item.

The same thing happens in the travel forum as well with people basically asking other posters to do their research and planning for them. It annoys the heck out of me, but no one forces others to respond. No one can be taken advantage of unless they allow it.

And then they don't pay attention to advice and come back with the same old question.

So Agree..........I don't even bother to click on those postings.  I do my own research or go without.

@Imaoldhippie: I get what you're saying. Of course, there's nothing wrong with seeking information from these forums BUT sometimes, I think: if someone takes the time to post here, they can just as easily do a google search. You're more likely to get answers faster than coming here and waiting to see if and when someone responds.

Some people are better at searching than others.  I think some people like to do these searches because of their own curiosity and available time.  Some of our posters are generous. I’ll admit to having been annoyed at some of the questions, but have also done searches myself for these folks because I know I can easily do it and it may be hard for them. I prefer not to pass judgment on such things.

I haven't really noticed this (I do not visit the travel forum).

However, I will admit to be the WORSE GOOGLER on the planet.  Is that a word?  LOL

I can google Lawn mowers and bananas will come up!  I swear I never get results even remotely close to what I am looking for.

Maybe those asking are not 'search' savvy or struggle on computers?

Often I have seen people state they would prefer someone recommend, or something 'tried and true' as opposed to randomly picking something outta GoogleLand.

Is this any worse than the posters asking for personal advice?  If you aren't interested in a certain post, then just ignore it.  Don't let it ruin your day.  Life is too short to get worked up over a post you don't have to respond to, or even read.

I don't mind those asking. I also like to read what others say, who may have gone somewhere or used something. Also if someone posts about a place I've also been to, it's nice to read what they say and compare.

Some people might feel posters here are a little more familiar or trustworthy?

I like to read reviews and I also really like to research things. I know that might sound kind of nerdy but my family and friends know if they ask me to find some information or best this or that, some obscure something, I'm happy searching for it and will get back to them asap.

And there is our poster @lolakimono

who always looks for special outfits or clothes even for certain posters.

Those who post beautiful pictures or inspiring sayings (and some are, despite what I feel about most quotes).

So it is not a hardship for those who do it. They don't have to.

Now if it is a word or quick question, or finding a certain shirt, I personally would rather just search it myself.

I don't know why some people don't search on their own. Maybe like someone said they are not comfortable doing it. My mother is not a good searcher. She is not always sure how to phrase something.

I think some people are not confident in their searching skills and are easily discouraged. It can take a bit of persistence.

If I don’t find what I am looking for right away that makes me more curious and interested - and determined.  Often it is a matter of finding the correct terms people use for a particular subject.
