When the hosts say the vendors are “at home” it’s simply a way to differentiate from being at the QVC studio. It’s an indication they are in a remote location at a home setting rather than at the production studio. I can say I’m “home” and simply mean I’m in area where I reside, such as a home town. I don’t associate this with lying or making a deliberate attempt to trick the viewer for some nefarious purpose. And accepting this as a method of indicating a remote Skype session does not make me a “sucker.” I find that comment to be overreaching and unnecessary.
I agree.
And some people have more than one home. Or they could be in a basement/lower level kitchen rather than their regular kitchen. Or at their parents' house, a childhood home that they consider "at home". Or on vacation in a rented house or condo, and unwilling to announce to the world that their actual home is vacant.
So they very well could actually be at home. Or not. And it has nothing to do with "lying".
I don't think where they are matters in the slightest, and even if they are "lying", who cares? What difference could it possibly make? I'm sure there's no ill intent - just an effort to streamline the proceedings.
