Analysts at Citigroup have recently assigned a 20% probability of bankruptcy.   If the company survives they project a 50 cents per share stock price, maximum over the near term.

If some other company thinks Qurate has viability it's a great takeover candidate,  the market capitalization is so low.  Even offering current shareholders a small premium may be a bargain (maybe only about $180 million to buy a company!)

For me, I shop here or I wouldn't post here.
I do hope they can pull through it all and I'm hoping this free shipping is bringing lots more sales.
I have no complaints. When a vendor screws up my ordered item, I can call and QVC makes it good with no argument. I have learned to stick with vendors I can trust so that rarely occurs anymore. One time a service rep wasn't helpful and someone here told me to email Customer Care so I did and it's so true! They were wonderful.
I've shopped here for at least 30 years.
Most of my clothes come from Anybody and D&C and I'm very pleased. I have come to know the quality. I recently saw a sale and ordered a robe from Macy's. Trash!! cheap and not as advertised. So, I'm sticking with my tried and true online store.

My bedding comes from Berkshire and Shavel. Love both. So warm and cozy. I got lots of their bedding for Christmas gifts.

I'd have a hard time of it as an 80 year old cancer patient without QVC. So I hope they make it.  Plus, a lot of employees there need jobs.
Sorry to ramble but I think QVC is doing their best. If anyone can suggest things they can do to get more customers, write them and tell them.  Again, hoping free shipping is a big boost!

Re: Stock Price

[ Edited ]

I think of all the employees who will be affected and lose their jobs.   Nothing to be happy about.   I can live without the Q.   There will always be avenues for people to buy but for some the Q is a real lifeline and convenience.

technology is advancing at lightning speed - changing everything.

I received an email from HSN asking  about their streaming channel as well as QVC's asking if I've ever watched or used it - and I have not,

I got rid of my cable three years ago and watch the shopping channels on roku with You Tube TV.  I really like it and it is much cheaper than cable.

@Teddixat 🤗

I use the Q’s streaming channel a lot!! And they know it because I get notifications of podcasts and special events through email.

I’m not an HSN shopper.

@Pecky 🤗

Same here! We don’t have cable or satellite and have saved a ton of money!! Pay absolutely nothing and get over 100+ channels, movies, music, YouTube etc. So much that you can’t possibly watch it all.

It’s like a landline phone, haven’t paid for that service in over 10 years.

I wouldn't touch that stock w/a ten ft pole.  Look at their charts. And since my last post of 38 cents, it closed today at 37......

Qurate stock has gone down even more.  As someone stated, closed at .31 (as of yesterday).  I would not be buying that stock either.

As of 2:25 P, Q stock price is at 38 cents.  Anyone have ideas why it is so low???

It's been below $1 for over a year now. Q stock was actually pulled off the stock market in the fall of 2023 because it stayed under $1.

Quarterly reports have shown constant financial struggles for several years, even before covid.

Stock is low because it's worth nothing.

An online report.

QVC stock is currently low because the parent company, Qurate Retail, is experiencing declining sales across all divisions, including a significant drop in units shipped, leading to net losses and putting pressure on the company's financial health;this is further compounded by increased competition from online retailers and a shift in consumer shopping habits away from traditional television shopping channels, causing concerns about the company's long-term viability.

Key points about QVC's low stock price:

  • Falling Revenue:
QVC's sales have been consistently declining across both its QVC and HSN channels, with significant drops in categories like home goods and apparel.

  • Turnaround Efforts:
The company is currently undergoing a multi-year "Project Athens" turnaround plan aimed at reducing costs, improving product margins, and expanding into video streaming commerce, but its effectiveness remains to be seen.

  • Debt Concerns:
Qurate Retail has a substantial amount of debt, which further impacts investor confidence.

  • Shifting Consumer Behavior:
With the rise of online shopping, fewer consumers are tuning in to traditional TV shopping channels like QVC, impacting their sales.

  • Nasdaq Delisting Risk:
Due to the low stock price, Qurate Retail faces potential delisting from the Nasdaq exchange if it cannot raise its share price above the minimum requirement.
