Re: St. Patrick's Day Programming 2019 So Minimal And Disappointing

Original poster - the mink, I'm not sure why they put so many hours over on QVC2? I'm enjoying it tho', I have a good wifi connection. (It's not on my cable lineup)  So much fun to watch and see all the vendors we feel like we know, especially seeing my all time favorite year after year, Stephen Walsh. Some new items, too, that is always exciting. So many sweaters to choose from, I'd like to try them all on and then pick the most flattering one to purchase.

According to my Ancestry DNA results I am only 1%Irish but I have bought many items on St Patrick's day and the Rose of Tralee in all 30 years of programming. I too am disappointed that most hours are on the livestream. Many longtime watchers do not livestream yet want to see the programming. Yes it would be nice to have more products like they used to!

I enjoy listening to the Irish vendors. Interesting how they are now second generation. Always enjoy and look forward to Steven’s humor. Have not seen much Belleek aired this year.

Just putting in my two cents although I am sure the powers to be don't care, I miss the 24 hour shows. I used to take the day off and settle down to watch my friends from Ireland every year. I usually pick up one of two things ever year, a new sweater, some connemara, some belleck...this year I just hopped one the internet.

Disappointed doesn't describe how I feel with the  Q every year.

Check out the Com De Ris pottery pieces.  Handmade.   I think he has not been featured for a few years.  I have a beautiful, sort of shamrock-shaped bowl from a few years ago which I love.  Ordered a different bowl today.  Pricey, but the colors are sooo beautiful -- blues and greens.

I miss the music and dancing of Ireland that used to be on to make the day. That was so much fun and the Pub set in the backgroung.

I was happy Colm De Rie was back as have two pieces and added the bowl. The Aran sweaters are so much more colorful. I  recall only a few colors Natural, grey, black etc.  in the beginning years. I have enough though. I also used to enjoy Boyne Valley Weavers which hasnt been around. I still have some of their jackets and wraps. The new line Fisherman looks interesting but the poncho was just too much for me in price and sweater.  I havent watched much this year just as usual Q shopping, check in but dont watch all day like years ago. Changes.

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't phase the Irish programs out in the next few years.  The programming decreases every year.  Interest wanes when it's the same merchandise  twice a year.  An international show might be interesting with a number of countries represented.

Re: St. Patrick's Day Programming 2019 So Minimal And Disappointing

I think it would be interesting if the Q did its Irish programming right after Valentine's Day so people could buy pieces they could use the next month to celebrate on/around St. Patrick's Day. I realize that most of the items that are brought in are all about Ireland and not necessarily about the American holiday version of St. Patrick's Day, but I'm guessing that more interest might be generated with this approach. I know if I buy a decorative piece during the 3/17 sale, even if I plan to display it year-round, I'll be a bit disappointed to get it two weeks later and have to wait a year for that item to directly tie back into the holiday.

Just my two-cents' worth...  Smiley Wink

ITA.  I think the Q asks these vendors to bring their most expensive stuff or else.  I even think that's their mantra for all the vendors that are presented on QVC.  Quick sales for highly priced merchandise.  Like it or leave it.

Re: St. Patrick's Day Programming 2019 So Minimal And Disappointing

I've never been interested in the St. Patrick shows but then again, QVC is certainly changing from years gone by.  I think at this point, only "longtime" viewers look forward to these all day celebrations (including Creede Silver Day, Gem Day, etc).

What I'm sick of seeing is endless hours of the same products & vendors Dyson, Josie Maran, Susan Graver, Philosphy, etc.& TSV Infomercials.....

I've lost interest watching QVC (& QVC2 same stuff previously recorded from Q) and HSN isn't far behind!

I'm sure Q won't miss me because they PTB are no longer interested in the long time viewers & customers IMO.
