Re: Since the Canadian QVC tging being done…

It was Ontario, California that was having issues.

I received an email about it from The Q regarding my orders from there being delayed.

They have ALL shipped now. 💕

Re: Since the Canadian QVC tging being done…

[ Edited ]

I just did a web search and also looked through all recent corporate releases for the overall QVC company, and I saw nothing about Canada, so I think this must just be a misunderstanding of the Ontario, California (CA) upgrades that took place in March.

I have had no issues with placing orders or navigating the website up until Saturday afternoon, when qvc.com definitely started having a lot of problems with page loading, processing of link and menu clicks, and the checkout process. Hopefully, the tech team is working on some solutions. (It actually appears that the whole site is down right now; I've tried a couple of different browsers and can't get past the error messages for more than one click or about two minutes except in the forums.)

For those of you experiencing the "Just Missed It" banners when you try to put an item in your cart or check out, have you noticed whether this only applies to clearance or final sale items? That has been my experience. I successfully purchased one clearance item yesterday, but I have seen those banners multiple times over the past week when trying to buy clearance items—every other category or type of pricing on items I've ordered has been processed without issues. And at least for me, trying to use Speed Buy instead of the regular checkout makes no difference for the "problem items."

I didn't know there was a QVC availability in Canada.

It happened to me last Thursday all day, yesterday (free shipping day) and now today.  Like I said,  I'm saving money, they're losing money!  You'd think they would have had enough time to fix it by now.

Looks to me like the problem of a failing company. Be thankful they are still here if you enjoy shopping or chatting at QVC.

Never heard that QVC operates in Canada. California has an "Ontario and so does Canada. A few posters have made that mistake before thinking that the packages were being shipped from Ontario Canada.

Re: Since the Canadian QVC tging being done…

@misschristy   I don't know about qvc and canada, but qvc did email some customers, including me on march 7, notifying us that deliveries were temporarily being delayed because of an upgrade to the technology in its Ontario Fulfillment Center that qvc hopes will ultimately improve its service.  The Fulfillment Center is in Ontario California (opened 2016), the location of a large number of fulfillment centers, including Amazon's largest U.S. warehouse, a robotics-sortable facility.

These fulfillment centers in Ontario Canada process goods imported from Asia and send them on their way to the rest of the country.

I and possibly others speculated that the delays may be caused by qvc having to finance unanticipated tariffs imposed on some imports starting in February with only a few days notice, and perhaps the qvc facility having to make some changes on that account.  But that woudln't have affected the website, which is a consumer facing issue, not a tariff or financing issue.

So it IS POSSIBLE that technology upgrades are causing delays on the website, but it is unlikely it has anything to do with Canada.

@Sansun  I had problems placing orders on march 31.  The items I tried to order were sold to other customers, so qvc did not lose anything.  I did because I did not get the items I wanted.

The Ontario facility issues concerned the delivery of orders placed in February.  It took about a month to receive my orders, and most of them were sent from Pennsylvania to NYC, so I don't know how the Ontario facility would have impacted the delivery, but I suppose it is possible.  I did eventually receive most of the items I ordered, I chose to cancel a couple of items.
