Re: Shopping menus are impeding my view of forums list

I notice it happens to me if I am signed in for a long time on the new forum.  Sometimes I wonder if the Q is reminding me that they are a shopping channel. :-)

I've found that if I periodically browse items recently on air, the overlay of shop by categories happens less frequently.

Is it just me?  I have been having problems with viewing the Community Menu and navigating through the forums  because the pull-down menu for "Shop by Category" (very near the top of the page) arbitrarily appears.  I am not clicking onto it, and seemingly have no control to prevent it from appearing. The blasted thing obstructs my view.  To close it and return to the view I want, I have to scroll around on the page.  Smiley Frustrated  There it is now.

Yeah, I have that happen sometimes, to. It's not arbitrarily appearing though, it's a hover-over event and not a click trigger. As long as I keep my cursor south of the Clearnance banner, I don't run into the problem at all. The menu appears if you pass your cursor over the Shop by category menu option. I use two monitors and find myself doing it when I move my cursor from the external monitor to my laptop monitor.

This is neither a hovering nor clicking situation for me.  I don't even have to be anywhere near the (cordless) mouse, which is an easy foot away from my right arm, for the menu to fall down over my screen.  In fact, it happened while I was typing my original post.

I like the drop downs, but the drop downs dropping down at the drop of a hat continues to be a significant annoyance...  Can we get this addressed, please...?

Yes I am having issues with the drop downs refusing to "go back where they came from" when I remove my cursor. I often must reload my page. They had an overactive drop down menu before on the old forums at one point. They eventually corrected the problem. Some set of variables is off.

I like the two drop-downs, too, and I really wish that Deals also had a drop-down feature, so that I could access lunchtime specials even easier from the forum.  It's no big deal, just a thought.

About the Shop Category menus covering up the forum and not going away without a reload, yes, I experienced it yesterday.  What a pain.  Maybe they will fix it.

Try Firefox or Chrome.  IE doesn't format properly.

This has been happening for me since even before the new board.   I hope they fix it, too.    It's profoundly annoying because I KNOW that I'm not even going anywhere near that field, yet the pull-down is almost always covering the forums list.

I recommend using Firefox or Chrome for your browser.  IE doesn't format properly.

Re: Shopping menus are impeding my view of forums list

I have this problem both when I'm on this board and also while I am shopping.  Just trying to get to the "back" button makes the drop-down drop down and it refuses to go back up.  I fight with it for minutes just to try to get where I want to go.  In explaining how to navigate the forums, the Q is constantly telling us to follow the "breadcrums," but the "breadcrumbs" just trigger the drop-down, if you can even get to them at all.
