Re: Shop Sooner Rather Than Later

I was watching a host on QVC talk about how we wouldn't find any Christmas trees in the stores this year.  Supposedly, there's a shortage.  I was in Hobby Lobby yesterday and  their store was packed with tons of Christmas trees and tons of awesome Christmas accerssories.  Before I went to Hobby Lobby, I had just ordered $153.00 of roses and the spiral curly ribbon from Valerie, who I love.  But Hobby Lobby had the same merchandise in their store for much, much cheaper.  I bought everything I needed to decorate my 3 trees.  I came home and canceled my order on QVC.  It pays to look elsewhere.  Normally, I don't.  I shop QVC almost every day, but this time it really paid off.

@wrenzee  - how were you able to cancel an existing order?  Normally exsiting orders can't be canceled - unless it's an advanced order.

@wrenzee I have heard on the news a few times that there is a shortage on artifical trees. I think what Hobby Lobby has in stock may be their only order for the season. The news has also been stressing if you see something you like it is a good idea to purchase it now as many stores will not have the ability to reorder many things this holiday season.

I was able to cancel my existing order because it was made that morning.  When I came home from shopping, which was only a couple hours later, I cancelled my order.  I find that once it hits midnight eastern time, I'm normally never able to cancel an order unless it is an advanced order.

No this no gimmick--- if I had any gift shopping to do, I would do it now. If you see it, buy it . Had a discussion with my family and we decided to curtail gift giving this year. There are just 3 kids in the family so will try to do something for them but that's all. And that may mean money in a card----- can't even depend on the post office getting stuff delivered. May have to send those now in order to get to them now-----Cat Sad
