Surprised at the $5.50 shipping charge on a lunchtime special today.

The item (A350581) was a great markdown from $100 to $20 so I didn't mind paying the higher charge.

Doesn't seem like a light weight, unlined jacket would be worth $100.00.

I'm surprised that the S&H wasn't $3.50.

Weight doesn't matter. Anything they call a jacket is $5.50.

I have wanted to order a set of small lock and lock containers....but $5.50 is a dealbreaker for me since the set isn't very much money now.

Where do you come up with this? 

Many jackets have S&H of  $3.50. I will give you some examples so that you don't post incorrect facts.

Joan Rivers Corduroy Shirt Jacket

Then I stand corrected. I just know every jacket I've bought here has had a shipping of $5.50. But I've never bought those brands you've listed.

@ALRATIBA  I posted about this increase in shipping yesterday re Jason Wu new cardigan liked it but could not understand high shipping $5.50  for a lightweight cardigan - not a jacket just a cardigan.  Pass for me.   Is this the sign of things to come?

I don't like Wu's designs enough to buy ... just not my style.  But I am a fan of LOGO - and the item was such a markdown - the $5.50 didn't seem that bad.  

I very rarely buy anything from QVC that's not on sale.  It was an $80 savings on the LOGO cardigan .

I think the cost of shipping is not just figured on the weight of an item; it's on the original price.  So something that was $100 initially will have had the higher shipping cost (might have something to do with insurance).

So even when it's reduced, that doesn't change the shipping cost because it's already in their system.  JMO, but it seems that's what I've observed over the years.

I don't think shipping charges are based on whether or not an item is on sale.  It still takes the same size packaging and manpower hours to get it out the door.

When I buy items online (which I do a lot) there are a lot of vendors  charging higher shipping costs.  I think QVC's charges are reasonable.  The speed of processing and shipping is a different story.
