I won’t watch her shows. She is not a good host. She is distracting from the vendor and the product. It should be called “ what is Shawn buying show”. When she worked with Isaac years ago, she acted as if she was the designer. lol. I was so glad when she was no longer with him. There are two hosts I won’t watch - Shawn and Jane. Both are very self absorbed. I wish they would stop naming shows “Shawn saves whatever holiday”.

Maybe the shows should be renamed "I am usually not a (fill in the blank) person but I do like this product."  That seems to also be part of her selling technique.  "I usually am not  a liquid make-up user but this is wonderful."  Ughh.

@willomenia - she used to ask the producer to order for her. Another sales tactic.

@spabar I do remember Lisa doing that, but not very often.  In one of the rare times I have heard Lisa talk about why she left QVC, she said that she did not like being told (by TPTB) to say on air that she bought something, when in fact she didn't.  That just blows any trust out of the water for me.  When the hosts say that things are, "flying out the door," or "we're very busy on the phone lines," or "there are 500 people placing their orders," we have no way of knowing if any of that is true, and likely, they are not.  The hosts might not know if any of those things they are told to say are true.  It seems like a big scheme to me.

Better than watching Jane present a treadmill, and not taking one step on it. 🤦🏼‍♀️

@misschristy I totally agree with you.  Shawn and Jane (and Mally) are instant channel changers.  A night or two ago I flipped to QVC and there was good old Jane selling something.  Within, I swear, 30 seconds, there was an, "I travel twice a week because my daughters live in different states," comment.  My outloud comment to that was, that I too would live in another state if she were my mother.  After the clock ticked to a new hour, I flipped back to QVC to see what they were selling.  Lo and behold, Jane was still there and made another daughter comment within seconds.  It never fails.  So freaking annoying.  Obviously I changed the channel both times.  She has to know that people are bugged by this, but she continues to do it anyway.  That tells you what kind of person she is.

The other female hosts may bring up their children once in a while, and that is fine.  But Jane's obsessive need to do it in what seems like every product presentation is absurd.

How many times have you heard: "Janey, you can't leave it here."

I've been critical of Shawn, and I've been neutral about Shawn.

Yesterday's show with Rebecca Procter of Mackenzie-Childs with Shawn was so fun.  She and Rebecca really looked like they were enjoying the time and the creativity was really flowing.   Shawn told a story she has told before about her mother having a set of Courtly Check dinnerware that she started to put in the dishwasher and how it started fading, but Shawn has the set and still uses it.

It seemed very honest to me.   I really liked the way she was persistent about details, about workmanship, dimensions, and overall practical issues about the pieces.  I thought Rebecca was also easily able to discuss product design,  techniques, and how products evolved in the Mackenzie-Childs line.

I was really impressed with Shawn in this show and the Permission to Pumpkin show that followed with vendor rep from Home Reflections.   They also did a very good, comprehensive and thorough show.

@SactoSue 🌸

I didn’t want the MacKenzie Child’s show to end !! The hour went by way too fast !

I only wish Jane at 4pm was more into the MC’s items than trying to tell stories that didn’t relate. 🤪 I think Alberti should have been the host for that hour.

@RescueLover

That's how I felt about that show, too.  Shawn and Rebecca were really making it very fun.  I didn't want it to end, either.

Other hosts have been OK.  Alberti has been unpleasantly fawning and it makes me uncomfortable.  David is OK, but his mind seems somewhere else.  Jane T was just making the show all about herself.  I recall Jennifer C was just selling stuff.

I was ready to cringe knowing Shawn was hosting, and it was a surprise at how she really zoned in on important details in the products, for example the spooky candlesticks, and Rebecca was right in step with sharing her expertise and enthusiasm.

If you follow Mackenzie-Childs at all, you learn it's all a pit the details with them.
