I chuckle every time someone writes about how genuine, how authentic a host is.
These are TV personalities putting on a show. Putting on a show! Many have adopted an on-air persona. (Much like a few posters seemed to have created their message board persona.) No one knows what they are actually like. All I know is that there are some host that resonates positively with me, and others whose behavior and mannerisms verge on disgusting me. All we know is what is presented for the purpose of making a sale. And it seems over the years that QVC doesn't care how low they are willing to go to that end.
And how has that been working out for them?
Some host seem to straightforwardly present details of a product in a refined manner. Others go the opposite route and seem to rely on antics, storytelling, attention getting devices, song and dance.
Personally I never gravitate to slovenly, "quirky", mania, disjointed, interrupting, unprepared behavior. I never cared for host displaying themselves more than the product being featured . I feel I deserve better and try to seek it at different viewing hours. I refuse to support someone I feel displays bad behavior.
There are some times slots and some new items that practically can sell themselves. I don't think the host is necessarily an indication of their ability to sell. Put any host in those times slots with those items and they will sell.
I often wonder how much more QVC could sell if there weren't a handful of such polarizing host. People may watch more, and consequently buy more.

Please tell Shawn to stop wearing those ridiculous glasses!
Maybe she wears those glasses because she needs to SEE !!!
She takes them on and off to read her cards....just like a million of us do w/ our readers.
Just because YOU don't like the style, doesn't make them ridiculous.
It just means you shouldn't wear them.
Not my style choice either, but I see them everywhere!
Geez, women can choose our own eyewear!!

Hmmmm When someone says they’re NOT something, it’s often a defense reaction to a perceived accusation.
And when they Highlight something that’s the trigger that set them off. 🥴Good offense but you can't divert and distract. YOU LIED ABOUT HOW YOU ALWAYS BUY FROM SHAWN. Because in this thread, YOU SAID you haven't bought anything from QVC in 100 years!
So you are a liar! You are caught and no matter how you try and spin it with your verbal tricks, you can/t undo a lie.
You need to read more closely. She didn't say 'she hasn't bought anything from Q in 100 yrs.'
YOU misread it.
She said....'she hasn't shopped at QVC FOR a 100 years.'
Meaning she hasn't been w/ QVC since the beginning like many others have.
She didn't lie....you read it wrong.

I don't like the glasses and find them distracting but they are an actual Q product, part of the Prive Reaux collection she helped design. The Q obviously thinks they're worth selling.

The Complete Opposite in my opinion…
I can only count on one hand the complaints that are valid.
But Maybe it’s because I haven’t shopped at The Q for a 100 years.
Interesting how I JUST READ some poster mentioned that the Famous Lisa R and Patty ? were constantly criticized and disliked by posters here. 😳
*** This was BREAKING NEWS to Me since I thought they were super popular and loved by all. 😳
I guess the wisdom I have gained from this forum is ….
If someone is cruel to a stranger they never met, how do they treat their own family and friends ??
Do they tell their loved ones, get your act together when you’re out in public, or at your job, because you’re a mess (when they might be dealing with personal issues that take priority over their appearance) ??
Or worse do they talk about them to others behind their backs.
Either way I highly Hope not !
TRUTH is we’re ALL a mess sometimes and it’s OK.What? You haven't shopped at the Q for 100 years? You're always posting how Shawn made you buy this and that.
Your constant defense of Shawn is tiring and needless. You are not going to change minds. Only Shawn can do that if she weren't so full of herself to show respect to the customers.
@Northray I believe you misread @RescueLover 's post. I believe she was saying she hasn't been shopping with the Q for a hundred years (as some posters have) so she has heard fewer complaints than others have heard over the years.

I don't know? If so, why didn't she just say so? Because I asked if she lied, and she never denied it.
If I misread it, then I apologize, but on a message board, you can only go by what you read and how it "sounds". And if someone straight-up asks, then you should just clarify. Instead, I get a post about how she doesn't want to be related to me and some other nonsense.
Because I'll tell you one thing, people who go on a host's fan-girl threads and say "Oh so and so host sold me this and that", - all the time - like see my hosts is just that good, I'm like yeah right.
When I shop, I shop for the product, not who is selling it.

Geesh, give it a rest, lol, a couple of you need to realize this is a shopping channel you watch in your own home. No one is forced to watch. QVC is in the business of selling, and like everything in this world some hosts/venders may irritate us. It's a personality thing. I avoid things like that myself.. if I am unhappy with hosts. And I did, I quit watching. I go online, surf around the site, watch videos, turn them off when I have seen what I am looking for. It's all at my pleasure. Everyone here on these boards is a drop in the bucket compared to the millions who watch... we are a tiny sement of their buyers. Of course our opinion matters .....but they throw us in with the millions of others, and go from there. Believe it or not. Most buyers are seasonal, only turn in for certain shows. They work, inside outside the home and QVC is not their sole shopping source. There are the segment of devotees who watch everyday, buy exclusively with Q. There are those who are shut ins so to speak and QVC is their pastime. Most US viewers aren't as familiar with the forums, or know each host by name. I have adult daughters who watch, and buy occasionally, mainly holidays, and they wouldn't know one host from the next by name. I am just suggesting instead of always slamming the hosts, just don't watch. YOU CAN VIEW THE ITEM ONLINE. Watch video, skim through it if you have to see on models. But they aren't going to get rid of their hosts because anyone of us finds them irritating.
