I have to keep remembering QVC is in over 100 million homes -- that's a lot of homes!  To more people than I could probably imagine, these are new products to them.   For people like us who have been watching for years and years, of course we have seen it all.

But I bet somewhere across the nation someone saw today's TSV and said wow!  I didn't know I could purchase a mattress from the tv.

If that was the case then their financial results would be much better than the report that was recently released. And one of the categories mentioned in the report was that sales in the home category were down.....(the report is posted in Q Talk)..............

I am totally not following what you are talking about in response to my comment about the same type of TSV being shown.

I fully understand why they do not just show a mattress only once a year.  It is to appeal to possible newcomers to their channel.

We who watch QVC more often may tire of what we think was just shown; however, to the people who may have never heard of QVC or seen QVC, they may be going by the channel and see something that intrigues them.  To us it may be "oh no, not again", but to them it might be the first time.

I have no interest in dissecting their financial reports nor will it help them if I do; however, I was just stating my opinion, as are you.  Mine is not based on anything anyone wrote on paper.  My opinion is based on how I feel as a consumer and how I understand why items are repeated.

We just bought an extremely well made Serta (probably not the same style but looks similar with deep sides and a pillow top with individually wrapped springs) for over $200 LESS than QVC.   And I have to laugh, the store we got it from was Big Lots and we're very happy with it..... Woman LOL

I rarely watch because of the repetition of products being presented.  Now I check out what's going on via the internet.  There are so many other retailers who sell online and many who don't charge for s&h.   Yes, it's nice to see the items on models and hear about what's being presented by a company rep, but when you know what they'll say before they say it......time to go elsewhere.

Re: Same TSV again ?

[ Edited ]

@Kachina624 You are on point today...I stopped buying some TSV's ( will purchase from vendors that have a solid reputation for offering quality products) after realizing low introductory price does not always mean you are getting a great product...I think sometimes the shopping channels use the customer to test their items...they work out the kinks and offer again.  I do a great deal of research on products sold at the Q to ensure they are not discontinued/retiring. For most companies Profit is the Bottom Line!

I remember the TSV's were always a BRAND NEW item exclusive to QVC at the lowest price. It was something unique and something to look forward to each day. Now its always the same thing and pretty predictable.

Sunday TSV: kitchen/cleaning device/bed

Monday TSV: Clothing

Tuesday TSV: Beauty

Wednesday TSV: Kitchen/food

Thursday TSV: Shoes

Friday TSV: Fashion/Beauty

Saturday TSV: Computer/Ring/High tech

Same old stuff, as seen on tv. Would nice to see the glory days of Peterboro Baskets or polish stoneware, tiffany lamps quality made and made to last. AND a truly great value.

I have turned in my QVC for Zulily.  That simple.  Great customer service, wide variety of products, great prices and THE SHOPPING CART for shipping.  And I don't have to watch the hosts"try to be just like me and my friend."
