Sales Statement of new GCI Chair F-43255

"This Pro model was specifically designed for QVC.  It was designed to hold more weight."

That was just stated as the sales pitch for the GCI Outdoor, Set of 2 Xpress Lounger Pro Portable Chairs -- F-43255, by the brand rep.

Then they showed a plus sized woman using the chair.

I just never heard them actually say this on air.  They usually just say something like, max weight capacity is XXX pounds.  This new way of stating it, I guess, is right to the point.

@Caaareful Shopper  If you're interested in buying the outdoor spectator chair, the Q's webpage for it states that it will hold up to 300 lbs.

@Desert Lily  Thank you.  No, I have no need for the chair.  It just struck me to hear the sales pitch spoken that way.

That's rather funny.  So they think the Q shoppers tipping the actual scales, do they?

Re: Sales Statement of new GCI Chair F-43255

During the heat of the pandemic I found out by accident that chairs rated for a higher weight are more durable. I'm not sure what my son does to office chairs but he needed a new one about every nine months or so. I ordered an office chair for my son. The wrong one was sent. It was rated for 550 lbs. He weighs about 160. The company said to keep it. That was about three years ago now.  He hasn't needed another one.

I have this chair from a few years ago. It's a bit complicated to set up & fold and it's fairly heavy to carry.

Re: Sales Statement of new GCI Chair F-43255

The other day it was mentioned that Ozempic, the diabetic drug that can have a side effect of weight loss is being used to the max by people who want to lose weight, not diabetics, just those who want to lose weight.

Someone said it was no big deal, it's great, keep on doing it-that there's NO HARM DONE. However, there is. This has created a shortage of the medication and it's not as readily available now for the diabetics.

That's what happens when people find things out like that higher weight capacity chairs are more durable as mentioned in another post. Then eventually, perhaps they won't be as readily available for those who actually NEED the chair.

"I never changed, I just learned."
