Someone to be so riled up about fitness being marketed at the new year perplexes me.

There IS an audience out there looking for fitness items, health supplements, lifestyle items this time of year.. Just because you are not doesnt mean nobody is or that the companies are "desperate"...they could just be selling a boat load to a lucritive market. Who knows.

I dont believe that QVC  or any other retailer sells things only I would buy...i would never expect them to. Some posters come off like that especially on themed days, cooking, fitness etc. Wow, if they are not into the theme they go off here.

Totally agree.  The marketing trends for QVC and all other retailers are based on tried and true selling patterns.  If they weren't working, they would have been abandoned a long time ago.

Adding that I always get a chuckle out of the usual suspects who seek out the critical posts just to like them.  😂

@CaliGold67 Well, I think shopping channels won't work well for you. Every January it's always about the New You or bettering yourself. In fact, just about everywhere you hear this. Soon, it will be about Spring; plants, swimwear, etc. Summer will actually begin Christmas in July.

I can pretty much guarantee the same sales pitches will be used over and over by every retail outlet. If you don't feel you want to hear reminding you probably don't want to shop anywhere at this time. It's marketing and been around for many many years.

I never watch Christmas or exercise shows. I'm already set in both areas and don't need anything so there is no need to watch.

Does that mean I need to avoid stores, not have an opinion, or stop checking online schedules? No. OP is just as entitled to her opinion as are you.

Just the usual New Year, New You stuff.  Happens every January.  I am glad I go to a closed, by experience level, yoga class now.  Wow the newbies that can flood a session in January has to be seen to be believed.
