SUGGESTION: how to create sub category

May I suggest a way to sub categorize a topic so it stands out of the endless maze of comments?

Enter topic : then subject. Then discussion in text box

LINEA: did anyone receive the new .... This is subject line. It could help

Re: SUGGESTION: how to create sub category

It's a good idea, but one we shouldn't be forced to undertake.  Had they done this right, we would't have to.  Honestly, if they weren't up to the task, then they shouldn't have undertaken it.   My head is still reeling from the 'shoes and accessories' forum that now includes handbags.  As if handbags didn't probably get more hits than other shoes and accessories combined.  Made no sense for them to get rid of most subcategories...  A few that were rarely used, I could see, but not most of them.

Totally agree Stevieb...it's not a good change, at least right now.

You can also use tagging.  If you tag it "Linea" you should be able to click on the Linea tag and all of the Linea posts will come up.

Someone suggested that for WEN .

Re: SUGGESTION: how to create sub category

Funny, I just wrote the same thing under JJM's thread....write LINEA: and then your topic...then we can find ewach other until they come to their senses reinstate the sub forums.  But now I have to figure out how to start a thread---I can reply, but I can't see how to start a new thread...geez.....

To create a new thread, you have to go to the appropriate forum category and then just click on new message.  As for quoting or tagging, you're on your own...  Smiley Wink

Re: SUGGESTION: how to create sub category

To TAG a post:  Bottom Left, inside the individual post box, just to the right of the places to click to report inappropriate content etc. is a small font "Tag" ... click on that with your cursor and it will open a box to add a tag to the post. It can be any post, not just your own, and I think it has to be done after you post. You can't add the Tag as you're typing the post, at least not that I can see.

Re: SUGGESTION: how to create sub category

OK, what one can do is type "Linea" into the "Search Forums, etc" box, hit "GO", and all the Linea threads will come up. However, unless I'm missing something which may very well be, there's no way to put them in order from most recent, I can't see how we'd be able to hold an ongoing conversation during a show, & when you hit previous, the site sends you back to the general fashion category. Personally, I drop in to check on what's new, other Linea buyers' reviews, or if I have a question, but if this is the new normal, I just can't be bothered. Life's too short.
