@Spurt I said in my post pretty much what you said, only you said it better. QVC has become too thin-skinned when it comes to critiquing their highly paid hosts and vendors. When a host's or vendor's appearance or selling method becomes a distraction to the items being presented and results in lost sales, it should be brought to the company's attention. And I also agree that a host should be wearing a vendor's product especially if the hour is devoted to that vendor.

Granted, there are degrees of criticism, some of which are unacceptable, but I think that QVC does its hosts and shoppers a disservice by expunging all comments which they view as critical Otherwise, the hosts are operating in a bubble and think that they are perfectly fine.

Exactly!! If hosts and vendors are rated by the number of sales, I think their employers are missing part of the evaluation. Customer feedback is - should be - very important. Just think how the sales would increase if some of these employees would just change up their behavior and sales techniques.
@corita@Johnnyeager I agree with certain comments should be allowed BUT Some people are worrying to much about everything they say and do. How they like their hair, How their make up is, if they repeat a certain phrase. Q is not going to fire everyone of the hosts that do things wrong. It is about sales. I think comments or suggestions are fine, but making fun of their veiny hands, and how horrible their hairdo is, or their outfits are ugly, is just mean. That was my point. Remember Q has millions of viewers. I doubt they even have hudreds on these boards. JMO
For example if a host's hair is hanging in one of their eyes and a host is bothered by it too, and keeps messing with it, that's a definite distraction from the product and presentation and makes me turn the channel and no sale for QVC.......
And instead of wearing clothing that's being presented on the fashion show, some hosts do look like they came from the beach or were running late and hopped out of bed and ran to the Q studio....... Again its a distraction because the viewer is focusing on the host's odd outfit instead of the merchandise being sold......Its a simple remedy--wear the Q merchandise....be professional in speech! (no repetitive words, no baby talk or made up words) Now veiny hands or making fun of someone's ears, or lips--that is DEFINITELY taking it too far!!!
@Spurt I agree with everything you just said, but think about this, There are hosts that have been there for many many years. There is one that has been there for years, they won't say anyting to her. Do you think? She is one I cannot watch. I am not sure how long these boards have been up. I just really started posting a lot about 2 1/2 years now. I have seen all these complaints for 2 1/2 years and have seen nothing change. So what is the point?

@BalletBabe. If you think these forums are for just crtiqueing hosts you are wrong. I think that may be on the bottom of the list or not at all.

Oh, I think something has changed in that time: the behavior of that host has gotten worse!

I havent seen many comments on older hosts, maybe a few on one repeating a phrase, but nothing like the last couple of groups of hosts that were hired...and one in particular...........As @Johnnyeager said the hosts have gotten worse.
And QVC always made excuses, they fired QVC's USA CEO, Claire Watts--her strategy was wrong, they blamed the economy, they blamed the weather--, they blamed the Olympics (folks were watching them and not QVC). And the interviews with the excuses were published in many financial journals. ..But when similar retailers had better results their excuses didnt hold up....The Execs werent looking at the right reasons and their revenues continued declining,,,,
At the end of October 2014 QVC started being traded as a separate stand alone stock. So now QVC can no longer hide under Libertyinteractives huge umbrella. Now stockholders are paying close attention to financial results, so is QVC.......... At first QVC looked at how many likes a host had on their Facebook Page to gauge host popularity, but now the magnifying glass is moving in closer....Why would QVC start listing the host for each show in their program guide.....wasnt there before! JMHO but it looks like now the hosts and their sales are going to be watched more closely .....................

Excuse me, but when did I say that? I never said that and please don't accuse me of saying something that I didn't say.

@Johnnyeager You don't know who I am talking about, but it don't matter to me what the hosts do. If I don't care for them , I just turn it to something else. I have 150 channels plus Amazon prime and most of the time I am watching you tube. LIke others have said Q has changed and I get tired of the same products. I have a few favorite shows and I try to catch them when they are on.

Interesting about the hosts' names appearing in the guide! I never look at that, but agree that perhaps the Q is looking more closely at the hosts. One in particular went from the middle of the night programs to prime time super fast. I seriously doubt that person was bringing in lots of $$$$$ during the wee hours of the morning. IMO the promotion was not because of fabulous presentation skills either. There are two hosts I cannot watch, this person is one.

@Spurt See I don't pay much attention to their sales and stuff. I learn more from your posts then anywhere else. LOL I like others don't buy near what I once did. I like others have several hosts that I cannot watch anymore. I am sure that they are watching what a host sells, but it is hard for me to believe they would keep any host on that isn't selling. I wasn't active on the boards in 2014. So I never knew of any of this. My comments are mostly geared towards the people that bash the hosts and then complain when their post goes poof!
I never followed anyone on facebook. I go to facebook to talk to my friends and family, and I know for awhile the hosts seem to be pushing facebook and that turned me off. Facebook is not the safest place to be. I never realized that they watched their facebook pages but that makes sense as to why they keep telling us to go there. I will not participate with that. If I was an owner, I would watch their sales also. I mean this is a shopping channel. See I have never looked at the program guide , so I had no clue that they even did that. I guess they have to do what they need to in order to keep the company going.
