And Peyton was along for the ride, who is far more likable than Ebenezer... They have at least a dozen hosts, so why are these same two seemingly on ALL the time lately?
I guess all the other hosts are on vacation---but fear not---soon it will be time for the "dynamic duo" to take their vacation time --Although that means that Jill will add endless references to her time "at the shore" and her beach house....
Yes I agree I don't mind the other buyer, Peyton, at all---he used to talk a lot about gems, but sadly the Q has dwindled the inventory that he is allowed to purchase. Even with the marm, sorry I missed that show looks like some interesting pieces at reasonable price ranges (checking items recently aired).....
Valerie actually has a show today---but looking at the FB preview its mostly beach themed decor which I'm not in too.......oh well hopefully she will have something new and different for CIJ although Im not holding my breath---moms probably has told her more variations on the globes and ottomans...
Oh yes, Jillsy's beach house... Sounds like a reality show... Maybe moms will come up with something. You know, send a camera along on The Marm's beach vacation... Actually, I surprised myself by watching a good bit of the artisan jewelry show. Despite Jill, who was tolerable, though barely so, there were some interesting jewelry pieces and Peyton is quite pleasant. I also got an email today about an upcoming gold show and the jewelry was actually gold, not bronze. So the 'fine Italian' junque notwithstanding, at least they are seemingly wheeling a few different jewelry shows out there. Hey, I'll take what I can get...
Yep, apparently Valerie has two shows today, one after David finishes in the kitchen... Incidentally, I hear tonight's impressive culinary accomplishment is to show us the joys of water. First, he's going to show us how to boil it and then he's going to advise us on creating the perfect glass of ice water... Happy Dance... Happy Dance... But like you, if the decor offerings tonight are as they were for the early show, I'm not all that interested. The beach motif falls flat unless one is at the beach and if one IS at the beach, well, it's sort of trite, so it's not my thing... Not to say that I don't have a few beachy items, but it's not a look I aspire too... I feel certain you're right and that dear, dear moms... has suggested to Valerie that she contact her vendor, (since I'm not buying that all the merchandise she hawks are actually her designs), and put in a great big order for more orbs and ottomans. I guess they'll see if they can ride that train as far as they're riding all the other predictable merchandise! Ottoman? We have new colors! Orbs galore, in lots of hues! New (well, sort of...) computer anyone? Pad? Tablet? Device? Perhaps you need a new vacuum... How about a Vitamix, you know, it's SO much morethanablender... Enjoy that freshly brewed glass of ice water and y'all come back now, ya hear...
Hey Stevie....did Jill purchase QVC USA----she was on YET AGAIN with that jewelry show!....SHEESH! And I bet the REAL gold pieces are what Peyton purchased and NOT David M, since they weren't BRONZO or RESIN in them after all, that's all David M. knows...
And you will be happy to know that Valerie mentioned that CIJ will begin on July 1st---moms apparently plans to not only reserve a weekend for it, but an ENTIRE MONTH AS WELL, if Valerie got the July programming schedule correct--Boy, Moms must have a trademark on the word OVERKILL! I love Christmas...but with the LIMITED INVENTORY I just dont know how the customers can stand a full month of BL, The Flash Game, Magnetic Blocks, and the Bliss Light .....and then when the ACTUAL SEASON BEGINS continue with that same inventory until the New Year is brought in....LORD HAVE MERCY!
Disappointed with VPH Show......even though I usually visit "the coast"....or to be more accurate, Texas's version, which is reallly the GULF OF MEXICO....not really a fan...so did not purchase her fisherman globes, nor the shells, nor sand castle....the ceramic birds were cute as were the lattice hurricanes with the bird on top....but I passed and did not buy at all!....And I almot had to laugh as she went through her usual routine with the ottomans....not only solids, but now there's scroll patterns....I can picture the seasonal motifs next---pumpkins for fall, holly or snowmen for Christmas/winter, bunnies and flowers for spring, shells for summer... She said she will be back with CIJ on July 1st...
LOL on David---I was reading David's blog & FB (to write my weekly lineup musings)....and did you know Stevie....that "SALAD'S CAN BE TRICKY" according to him..... He's a regular gourmet chef isn't he.... Say what you will about Bob Bowersox, but at least he seemed to be a knotch above David's in the cooking Department....But I have to give David credit---HE KNOWS HIS COLORS...
Oh yea, salads are a true culinary challenge... Got it. Right... Right up there with that perfect glass of ice water...
Yes, dear moms has probably won an award somewhere from someone for her very real and unmatched success at beating that poor horse literally into glue...
I actually liked Val's fisherman's floats, but no, not enough to buy. Enough of the battery operated lit glass... Oy, has anyone associated with the Q actually had an original thought in the whole last decade...?
Have to say though, Nancy and Antonella were good together for the little bit of the gold gala I was able to catch.

Stevie, isnt it just like moms to RUIN the gala with David M. And yes I liked the pairing of Antonella and Nancy I thought they did a good job together---
I am so so tired of once something sells well at the Q and they do it to death!!!! Just like VPH's musical eggs, the globes, and tons of other Q products.....OY! The word ORIGINALITY is not in QVC's dictionary....
In David's blog the reason a salad is "tricky" because for those that truly enjoy food, (and by that he means --and these are his exact words, "stop and do a Happy Dance when they eat something they love", (and I know you're one of those "happy dancers" aren't you Stevie ) should view the salad as a satisfying meal, packed with yummy ingredients, rather than something that feels like diet food....
And although David didn't say it-- I guess you do the yum yum face along with the happy dance... May I offer you a barf bag.....

Well, I caught a few minutes of Carolyn on her show this afternoon and I learned something new! Cookware is seasonal! She was presenting the Cooks Essentials cookware set and pointed out that the green is non-seasonal! I did not know we were to change our cookware with the season! DUH!I am so uninformed! Now, I don't really mind Carolyn as she is not a frantic yelling host, although she must own everything QVC offers, but this struck me as really dumb. Non-seasonal colored cookware??Give me a break.
Hey KS---WOW---See QVC is soooooooooooooo educational....I have made a BIG faux pas by not having seasonal cookware....I'm just lucky the COOKWARE POLICE did not issue me a citation....!!!! So Im going online now and ordering every color for any season---what about cookware that can double---I mean orange can be used for summer, but it can be used for fall too. Are we supposed to purchase red, white, and blue for Patriotic holidays..Oh what is a cook to do!!! I want to be in compliance!!!
Can these gimmicks get any worse----its bad enough the host pretend they are ordering on air.....or say this will be the lowest price EVER on an item--it's not 2 days later its the TSV, or easy pay will go away---its still available ONLINE....
Now I agree with you---I like Carolyn---she gives good product info, and has a pleasant personality and sales style, she's not hyper and she likes animals! (even though she's a bit of a hoarder---she once said she had many broken vacuums stored in her basement-WHY-)
Okay, so I have been putting a lot of thought into this. I think that red and the non-seasonal green would be good at Christmas. Then at Thanksgiving, the copper and/or the orange would be nice - and the black and the orange could be used at Halloween. I agree that the red could also be used with the blue on patriotic days like July 4, Labor Day, Flag Day, Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, President's Day. The non-seasonal green could be used during the summer paired with a summer color but I don't think they offer cookware in summery color like yellow. I could be wrong.
And of course, in addition to the gift annex, I would have to have a cookware annex. Do you think that the seasonality of kitchen things carries beyond just cookware, like IMTAB, choppers, knives, etc? I mean, I want to be totally compliant!
Hey KS ---I do like your pairings......excellent job!
Yes there is a yellow set---Le Creuset cast iron cookware set Item K303252.
The only reason I remembered the yellow, quite a while ago, it must have been a full moon and ITKWD had a very very rare appearance by the Le Crueset vendor. I have a friend that did her kitchen in Sunflowers, and yellow and white. She saw the set and was considering it because of it's color to match her kitchen items. She called me and asked me if QVC's price was a good one. I told her she could probably get it cheaper at Macy's when they had their coupon days and also no shipping charges if she got it locally. I told her she should also check with the Kitchen Store in Fredericksburg, TX that sold LeCrueset too. The set is very pricey set over $400 and she never ended up purchasing it at all from anyone.
I forgot about the copper, good catch, GREAT for fall/harvest....
For spring/Easter-cooks essentials has a set in lavender, aqua and light blue
Now my personal opinion is that ALL the accessories need to coordinate too---food choppers, knives, bakeware, and silicone lids.....must be in coordinating seasonal colors.
Oh, I like that yellow! And you are right, how could I forget Easter! We could have a veritable Easter basket of colors, like Easter eggs, with lavender/aqua/light blue.
And definitely color coordinate everything else. A good place is Sur la Table, as you can get almost anything in colors.

Yea, I've got his yum yum face...
In the warmer months, I have salads for meals often. I've not found it that much of a challenge to put together the vegetables, with some sliced meats, cheese, perhaps a boiled egg and any number of other things. Given that salad 'fixings' now come already prepared in bags makes it even less of a challenge. I don't use them all the time, but whether I do or not, salad is not 'tricky'. Perhaps he needs to stick with that ice water recipe...
Yes, those yellow pots are so pretty, but I don't have nor do I want an entire set (or season-coordinated sets...) of pots... Not only are some of those sets pricey but some of them are so heavy as to be used not very often. I have some nice pots that I've picked up 'a la carte' at Homegoods and the Maxx and they serve me just fine. I don't cook extensive meals very often and even when I do, I have what I need... Besides, any true home fashionista knows, your pots and pans need to coordinate with your kitchen and NOT with the season... Tsk Tsk...

Actually, I DO have some early Cooks Essentials hard coat enamel pots in hunter green which match my kitchen. But my go-to pots are 25+ year old Farberware stainless steel, entire set of pots, dutch oven, fryer, double boiler, bowls, etc. for $80 at Rich's and when Farberware was still made in the US. I have no plans to replace them! I do have a cast iron skillet that was my grandmother's.

I could use a double boiler, come to think of it, even though it would be sparingly used!
I too have a couple of old cast iron skillets and while I swear by them and used them religiously for years, I have to admit, I haven't used them in some time. I have a sweet little ole fry/saute pan that's become my "go to" for so many things. And besides, it's orange to match my kitchen!

Yes a crayola box of colors is needed to get the effect for a full year....
BTW I did like browsing at that website.....
A couple of my co-workers rave about the older Cooks Essentials cookware......I hear mixed reviews on the newer versions however....

Hey Stevie,
Sorry you are experiencing power outages, hope your power is now going steady, especially with the hot weather.........
I also like a refreshing salad during the summer months.....lots of veggies, cheese and sometimes meat (chicken or turkey or ham), but no eggs.....Or I go full antipasto....Or a greek salad.....
QVC makes is seem that David is preparing an extraordinary culinary "masterpiece" when its actually something that a 6 year old could prepare...Yep he needs to stick to ice water recipes or cereal..... From his Facebook, looks like he does a lot of take out--mainly pizza....
One Christmas I treated myself to a nice cookware set....BUT for various reasons I did not like it---the cookware did not heat evenly, and not easily cleanable etc etc....So I got a couple of pieces at Home Goods, and one at the kitchen outlet store....and those are my favorite pieces I use all the time. I do what I call QUICK meals ( I also do some prepared main courses too) and only do something fancy when I have a guests. So the expensive set sits in a cupboard gathering dust....
Now I do change up my kitchen accessories for the season---just accents and perhaps artwork to go with the season.....and since my kitchen is somewhat neutral in tone, it goes with everything....so I can do BOTH seasonal and goes with my kitchen...And Stevie with your orange you really are in tune seasonally for summer, fall/autumn/Thanksgiving....
But yes those Le Creuset is very heavy--- and too expensive.....

There is a Sur la Table store in Charlotte and I could spend hours in there!
