Has it ever happened that you put something in your wish list, perhaps a jewelry item that was on sale for $600 off original price, and you call the next day to purchase and they don't give you the sale?  I wish QVC would permanently "mark down" items instead of a brief one-day sale.  It's annoying.

Some of their "sales" are just for an hour or two.  Yes, it is annoying but it has been their model for some time now.  Assume it is intended to induce us to buy things quickly.

Sounds like just missing out, timing is everything.  Stores do not offer a sale price when it is the next day or on their website.

To me it's reminiscent of the 'Blue Light Specials' that KMart did. I've been hearing the host often say "when the show is over so is the special" or something similar. I agree with you I wish a price was the price but many retailers seem to be doing this.

@We rescue cats

Lol, I remember those Blue Light Specials!  Haven't thought about those in years.  Thanks for the reminder.😃❤️

I agree about leaving a sale price as is.  I don't like feeling pressured into purchasing immediately either.  I rarely, if ever buy those One Time Only's.

Re: SALE, AND THEN NO SALE

@SAM55 I believe that's what a special sale is, a temporary reduction in price. Many businesses have "sales" for a limited time. A great example is grocery stores. Most EVERYTHING they sell is going to have a sale price at one time or another and return to regular price.

If I really want something, and it's rare that I have to have something, I know what my max price is. I then decide if it is a good value, even if the price is later reduced. If I want it bad enough that I'm afraid it will sell out, I purchase it. Otherwise, I wait until the price is at my "buy it" price. If it sells out, it wasn't meant to be.

I wish my gocery stores, gas stations, department stores, online stores, etc. would also "permanently mark down" items.

@We rescue cats  Attention KMART Shoppers!

 I remember those Blue Light specials too.

We also had a department store called Zayer that had Midnight Madness sales. Especially around the Holidays.

I swear you could predict the weather by them.  I can not remember a one of them that didn't have some sort of foul weather when the time came!

What I find odd is after sale price is posted they go to clearance sale price then back up to sale price. That confused me for a while because clearance sale price in my mind is the lowest price to clear out inventory. I understand sale can end, but most brick and mortar stores use clearance as the lowest final price, but not qvc.
