Rick Domeier - was an 'actor'

Rick Domeier joined QVC (a TV Shopping Channel) as a Host Trainee in the fall of 1994 and became a permanent Program Host in April 1995. Prior to that, Rick was a member of several theater companies in southern California including the Genesis Theater Company in Long Beach and Will and Company. Among the roles he played were McDuff in "Macbeth" and Hal Carter in "Picnic." Rick moved to Southern California to further his acting studies at the Tony Award-winning South Coast Repertory professional training program. In addition to live theater, Rick has appeared on various television shows such as "St. Elsewhere," "Dream On," "The Young and the Restless," and "Likely Suspects." He also co-starred in the cult classic horror movie, "Evil Dead II" directed by Sam Raimi. His appearances in commercials for Good Year, Isuzu, and Pontiac led to his hosting a pilot for an electronic retailing show. QVC executives saw the pilot and asked him to audition. Rick studied theater at St. Cloud State College in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, and at the San Francisco Theater Academy, which led to his participation in several theater productions. A member of the Screen Actors Guild for 10 years, the Minnesota native now lives in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania.

Yes, heard he was an actor too, but did not know to what extent, thought others might be interested.   @PhillyGirl23  @banned again

Rick has been around for a long time, and so have many of us, so we know. But thanks.  I will say that somehow over time, I began thinking that he was in 976-Evil 2 instead of Evil Dead 2.

I used to enjoy the skits Rick and Joan Rivers once did to preview her upcoming shows. They were hilarious. Rick seems to be a fun guy with lots of energy and enthusiasm.

I looked up Gladwyne, PA.  It states that in 2018, it was ranked the 6th richest zip code in the country.  Not sure how they rank them.  I am sure it is a lovely area.  I like Rick, however, sometimes he gets to be a bit too much, lol.

@seaBreeze Thanks for your post. Interesting read. Some of us knew some of Rick's bio, but limited information.

I knew about the horror movie because other hosts often tease him about it. I thought it was a one-off thing. Of course he laughs it off, which is typical for Rick.

However, I had no idea about his theater involvement and TV gigs. It's not much of a surprise though. Rick is definitely an entertainer.

I recognised him  in the  EVIL Dead  2 movie. He gets the axe in the movie , but did a good job acting. I also remember seeing him in Young & Restless . His bio says he played the character Jake in 1989 .  I do think he does a better job acting  with all his energy . He just has a little to much energy when Hosting on QVC.
