This isn't a complaint, really, more along the lines, of a head scratching observation.

In the last couple of months, I've had the experience of reading reviews, on an item, and finding a number of low reviews, because of shipping issues! One review actually stated the item was great, but, it was being returned "on principle", because, it went over, the EDD🤔I find that ridiculous,  but, more importantly, it's deceptive to low rate an item, due to shipping.  The way to complain about shipping, is NOT, through product reviews.

Recently, I've also read a number, of reviews, that are, IMO, useless, it's like the reviewer bought the item, sight unseen, and read nothing about it. An example, a review of a shoe, where the reviewer stated, she was returning because, there was a contrast, between the sole of the shoe,and the fabric, huh?? Even if the presentation wasn't watched, this wasn't noticed, in pictures?

I don't understand, why these reviews would be posted? Now, especially, if I see lower ratings, I find myself really going thru and reading them, a lot more than I did, because,it seems, so many are getting posted, that are of no help!

@SuhseK   You are absolutely spot on.  I've spent a lot of time trying to write conscientious reviews but am less and less interested in doing so due to all the ****** on the review pages.  They have someone who is supposed to screen them but either he/she has been given bad instructions or is not doing the job correctly.  Customer service issues should never be mentioned.

@Kachina624 @SuhseK ITA with both of you. I wonder if the reviewers of the reviews, ha ha, have all been fired.

There have always been these kind of posts, but maybe it's more common now.  I don't understand why someone would think that was being helpful to other customers who were considering that product.  Some people are willing to vent their bad day, no matter how they have to do it.  Ridiculous!

@MomCat For all you know these posts just MIGHT be helpful to someone. It's not for you to say. And we are free to post comments, just as you are.

EDITED: @MomCat I apologize for this post. It's been pointed out that I likely misunderstood your post and that's right.

I've posted this before - there should be a form come up when posting reviews with specific topics to rate the product on.  The reviews I hate are the ones that say can't wait to get it!!  There also should be a way to go in to amend or add on to a review.  I usually wait a few weeks because I found that something I thought not good turns out to be great after wearing or using it more and the other way around.

I've actually seen reviews, especially on HSN, where the reviewer will state something to the effect of, "I haven't received it, so I can't review it." Those leave me scratching my head.😕

I leave very detailed reviews that leave the customer understanding everything needed to make an informed decision.😊

@Love my grandkids

I believe you totally misunderstoond @MomCat .She said:

"I don't understand why someone would think that was being helpful to other customers who were considering that product."

She is agreeing w/ the OP that those kinds of reviews are not helpful to those wanting to purchase the item.

  I believe when she stated these 'posts' she meant these 'reviews'.

I think you scolding her unnecessarily.

@MomCat I'm sorry for the scolding. I misunderstood what you meant.
