Well of course QVC encourages it! It's a marketing tactic, pure and simple. The hosts are not your friends. They're sales people, doing what it takes to get you to buy what they're selling. If they have to adopt a certain "on-air" persona to gain your confidence and get you to purchase, it's just all part of the job.

Sadly many of us got into debts litening to the hosts rave and gush.  Many duplicate items were purchased, items I did not even open or know I had down the cellar.

@Reever   "Many" of us got into debt?  I suggest you speak for yourself, only.

my opinion is that the majority of us know what our budgets are, and we buy what we know we can afford.

Yes, they want to make sure customers feel like the hosts are "family" so that people keep buying! All part of the sales strategy....

I AGREE!!!  They are just selling you something and most of them just trying to be cute.

Re: Regarding #HostsAtHome

[ Edited ]

I think I've seen quite a lot of the #hostathome videos or live events.  I don't even seek them out, they appear on my normal social media feeds and if I'm already on I catch one of these.

Jennifer -- has a live meditation session several times a week.

Elise -- yoga session; cooking with Antonella.

Antonella -- several cooking sessions; nail manicure tips with Erin Moseley (Diamonique vendor).

Mary DeAngelis -- several chat sessions with various hosts & vendors in their home.

Courtney Cason -- makeup.

Courtney Khondaby -- makeup.

Carolyn Gracie -- her home garden and pets.

David Venable -- morning coffee sessions from his home.

Gabrielle -- skincare.

Jane Treacy -- joined by her daughters for general chats and laughs.

Sandra Bennett -- baking bread.

Stacey  -- cooking.

Rick -- is on right now (4:00PM est) on his FB page with Terri Conn, from the basement of his house (Terri is at her house)

The only host that I know of that said he will politely not participate in #hostsathome is Dan Hughes.  He said he tries very hard to keep his public work and his home life very separate.  He said he really likes the idea, but it's just not for him (you can read his words on his FB page post).

I think Dan Hughes is a very smart man to keep his private life private. He works to live, he doesn't live to work and doesn't always have to have the spotlight on him.👍

As long as Dan keeps up laughing I could care less if he hosts from home.  His leveity and corny jokes never fail to make me smile.  Not to mention his rugged looks !

But he shares details about his life to sell items of course.

Do you all really think that the hosts have an "opulent" lifestyle?

This really isn't about hosts at home but I'm wondering if Shawn has been Skyping in anymore?  I haven't seen her at all but I'm not watching much.  I noticed that she hasn't posted on any social media since April 22nd.
