Receiving Refund instead of requested Replacement Item

[ Edited ]

I recently returned Item number A513074, America & Beyond beaded bag in Lemonade, because mine was defective (beading was missing in a section). I marked online AND on my return form that I would like a replacement bag. Instead I was issued a refund (yes they are in stock) and so I attempted to find out why....

First, I called CS and she told me this is how it's being handled frequently now. What--they offer the option to replace but refund instead??  Ok so then I decided to try the chat feature and this was her response: "Our IT team is currently working to identify the issue and correct it.  I am sorry for any inconvenience." :\

At this point, they can keep this bag or I'll reorder it myself in the future. I found both of these responses odd so wanted to share.

Sounds like lots of issues at the Q....

@Cathyshopper

Suggest you send an email to:  QVCSocialTeam@qvc.com

Include your ORDER NUMBER in the email.  The  MODS will sort this out for you.

Yep! What @Mz iMac said is the way to resolve issues with QVC!

@Cathyshopper   When you do exchanges, they process what appears as a refund then they send out at no cost to you, what you're exchanging for. It is also possible what you now want is gone hence the refund back to you.

I'd do a live chat to find out which might be your case.I find live chat is so much better than attempting to email back and forth and get nowhere fast.

@PINKdogWOOD - The OP says in her post that she did a live chat.  It didn't help.

@Cathyshopper - If you really still want the handbag, I agree with the suggestion to email the Social Team.  They've always been able to resolve any issues I've had.

@Cathyshopper  Make sure they didn't charge you for return shipping.......

Re: Receiving Refund instead of requested Replacement Item

@Venezia   Well, the IT team has nothing to do with exchanges, returns, refunds etc. I'd still do a live chat again because the answers she got the first time had nothing to do with what she's needing to find out about.

If a refund has been made, it won't do any good to contact anyone else.  That transaction is over and done.  Your alternative is to reorder it, starting over again.  For some reason, they've always refunded some exchanges.

IMO exchanges are a joke.  I recently returned an item to be exchanged.   I checked before to make sure my size and color was available and it was.  In fact most sizes and colors were available.   Instead I got a notice it was refunded instead.  I checked the item again and it is still available in my color and size.   This happens quite often.

Agree completely.  I guess I usually return, but this bag was so pretty so I wanted to try again.  It's on sale, so I may reorder.  However, I was surprised by both responses (phone and chat), so wanted to share.
