Reading thread-weird

I was reading different threads.  No problem.  I signed in to post a comment on one thread.  No problem.  I go back to reading threads. Problem.  I cannot see the the original post only the responses.  What gives?

never mind - fixed it.  Set topics from oldest to newest.  I had never changed it.
