So I rec'd something and it had to be returned but I saw a return label inside and thought thank goodness last Christmas was a nightmare. I pack it up attach the label and give it to my postal lady she says oh no you have to take it to UPS so I said ok, I  go to UPS and they say no it has to go to the USPostal service I tell him they said no he says it says UPS but it goes postal service so we take it there . they took it today something  my  hubby bought had to go back we wrapped it up and attached the label and the postlady says no you have to take it to UPS.. here we go again .. after explaining to her what happened she says QVC is doing this to save them money when they ship it goes to UPS and transfers to the post office to deliver , reverse going back. thats why it is taking so long and they do it to save them money.. now I am okay with anyone saving money but this is nuts

Holy moly! Which place ended up taking it? Was it UPS or USPS? I would be growling at that point.

@Chatyone 2 - QVC now handles returns via dropoffs at both the USPS and UPS; the location option often depends on the item type and/or weight. Here are a few tips:

• Make sure you aren't accidentally attaching the label used to ship the item
   to you—check for your address in the upper left corner of the label and a QVC
   or "Returns Service" address notation in the main/center section.

• If the return label is for UPS, the tracking number will begin with "1Z." If the
   return label is for the USPS, it will always begin with a "9" and typically "9202."
• Returns processed at UPS will be handled via UPS throughout the process;
   returns processed at the USPS are picked up by a third-party agent, so any
   tracking via USPS usually stops after the package is picked up.

Good luck!

It's been like this for awhile now.  They're using UPS Mail Innovations which many retailers are using.  The labels say USPS, so the postal worker made a mistake by not just taking it the first time.  I've never had a problem with my post office taking them immediately.

Re: Qvc returns

@Chatyone 2 - Just to set your mind at ease, it sounds like the people you dealt with unfortunately didn't understand the returns process very well; they should have been able to look at the label and know whether it was their tracking number or not. There is no "reverse handoff" between UPS and the USPS for returns—UPS handles returns service when the label is assigned to them and QVC has engaged a third party (Newgistics aka Pitney Bowes) to pick up and handle returns dropped off at a USPS hub. I'm guessing the USPS employee may have known that the returns were not directly delivered by their company and could have been confused or frustrated, so it sounds like you received a made-up answer as a result.  Smiley Wink

Re: Qvc returns

[ Edited ]

They are doing new things with returns at QVC.

The one that should be easiest is getting a QR Code for either UPS or USPS and bringing it directly to the post office or a UPS stop shop.

Sounds good right? Well I have already stumbled upon issues.

The first being Q's customer service sent me a return label when I told them I was never emailed a QR Code.So some of them are as puzzled with the new process as the customers.

The second one is my USPS will not  do that sort of transaction because they claim to be too busy to do it? HA!

Unreal!

Tip if you request the QR code. Immediately take a screen shot of it because you may never receive that email they say you should be receiving shortly. Mine never came.

USPS took it ..it was a return label it had the return address on the label also had both ups and USPS on it .. the postman wouldn't take it said oh no you have to take it to the ups store we go there and they say oh no you have to go to the post office so  they  took it
This morning i put my husbands return in there and the postman said again oh now I cant take this and we told her what happened she  looked again and then said oh I see she said this is stupid  sending from one place to the other .. if you check  your order status for shipping to you sometimes you see UPS and then it says it will be delivered by Usps.. Stupid

I just returned two items (1 to qvc and 1 to hsn) and both labels clearly had who the shipper was to be.  One went to usps and the other to ups.  Yes, you do have to look and see on each label.   I haven't had any of the being sent back and forth.

@Chatyone 2

I just did several "qvcezreturns" via email -- printed my label which stated USP (even gave me locations to chose to drop off).

Printed out using my actual PO - put out for mailman.  Picked up Friday today I got notification my package was on its way for return and received credit already.

I always print my own return address for the package going back, usually it is cheaper, unless it's somethng heavier, like boots or shoes.
