QVCD are bonds maturing in 2067, not stock.

Good luck with those.

QVCD is NOT a stock.

Thats NOT the Qurate Corporate Stock, but rather bond issues that Qurate holds.

The CORPORATE stock is Qurate,  ticker QRTEA.

Qurate, QRTEA is the stock ticker, and is the stock that was de-listed from NASDAQ today.

It is the topic of today's forum.

QRTEA stock that a person can ( or could) buy on the NASDAQ exchange.

Here is what QVCD is:

What Is a Note?

A note is a legal document that serves as an IOU from a borrower to a creditor or an investor.

Notes have similar features to bonds in which investors receive interest payments for holding the note and are repaid the original amount invested—called the principal—at a future date.

Notes can obligate issuers to repay creditors the principal amount of a loan, in addition to any interest payments, at a predetermined date.

Notes have various applications, including informal loan agreements between family members, safe-haven investments, and complicated debt instruments issued by corporations."

Or not working...

It's like the firemen who arrive to save the basement. JCP, BB&B, yesterday First Republic bank. All boasted their turn around plans.

Way too little, way too late.

@Snowpuppy

And in retail...the ones who did them in was......US!!!

We stopped shopping there.

Or got turned off by the presentations.

Or figuratively..." Honey...we gotta talk...I found someone else"....

Or,we may be putting too large a blame on the CEO when the whole concept of how we shop is changing.....

Gotta admit...at one time, QVC was a great place to shop for new stuff and new ideas....now...there's NOTHING you can buy on Q that you can't find on a dozen other sites, including "thier own brands" which are available NEW on sites like E-bay...

It's like the luxury brands that are being diluted by re-sellers who sell thier used stuff for less ( Real Real comes to mind.....)...

@Othereeeen  Why when you type in QVC Stock price does it say STOCK price : QVCD (NYSE) $9.01 if it isn't a stock?  I don't understand how it's not a stock.

@yamma024

When you put in QVC Stock....you will get:

QVCD  NYSE
QVC Inc 6.375% Senior Notes (NYSE) or

QVC Inc 6.375% Senior Notes (NYSE)
NYSE: QVCD

See where is says "Senior Notes" after the letters QVC Inc?

This is a BOND holding.

Companies issue BONDS against thier assets for payment in the future, providing they are still a going concern...See my previous post that explains  "WHAT IS A NOTE" in this thread.

This is NOT the Corporate Stock of the company that owns QVC, HSN , Zulily, etc.

The Corporate Stock is what was removed from the NASDAQ today. It is what you would have been buying if you called your broker and said I want to buy QVC stock. He( or she) would look it up and see QURATE is the Corporate stock in question!

That company/corporation is QURATE RETAIL, INC.

There is no separate STOCK listing for QVC....or for HSN or Zulily etc. They are ALL under the Qurate umbrella..the Corporate entity for which there IS a stock ticker:

QRTEA.

QVC is owned by Qurate Retail Group.

Hope this helps!

Did you type in QRTEA?

Not surprised by the delisting at all. Just another nail on the coffin it seems. TPTB brought all this on themselves. Making bad decisions after bad decisions, throwing any carp against the wall to see if anything sticks. Not a way to run a business. I think not listening to their customers is the worst of all their bad decisions. A business can’t survive when you could care less what your customers think. So when they go under it is of their own doing. TPTB also weren’t thinking about their employees either. Wonder how much the upper management payouts will be.

@Rockycoast

I predict a slow tortuous death....like those poor fish you see flopping in a warming tidal pool as it dries up....

Like Penney's and Sears and Kmart and Jamesway and Wards and all the others before them....

Or...it COULD just go belly up really quick like Bed Bath and Beyond...all in one fell swoop....here today, gone tomorrow....

No matter what, D-day ( D for de-list!!) has arrived....

I will hope for the best on Friday May 5th, but it doesn't look good. I will walk around my place today and lovingly touch each QVC item and think about how fun it was to order and recieive them!!!

@Othereeeen  I went to google and typed in QVC stock price. It trades on the NYSE.  Also if you google QVC, off to the right it shows the QVC Logo and says what the stock price is and about the Company. Says it is owned by Qurate. But it has it's own stock.  Not a big deal to me, just don't know why it says it's their own stock.  Thanks!
