If QVC/HSN would like to listen to the opinion on this by Marvin Segal son of the founder of QVC, go to Shawn Wiesle's podcast and listen to his suggestions on improving things. They are very interesting. Here is the link:

I would think any help on improving that number should be taken into consideration IMO.

Is this Marvin Segel (son of Joseph Segel) the same man who used to hold senior positions at rival ShopNBC/ShopHq?

Yes, Caareful Shopper, he identifies himself as that previously on the podcast. I listened to it too. He now does something different.

If they'd just read this board, they'd get some excellent suggestions on what to do to turn things around. What do we know...we're just the consumers that do or don't buy their stuff.

@Kachina624 , I agree, this board and another that I post in ( Primetimer) have excellent suggestions. Sometimes it seems like they are just throwing things on the wall and seeing if they stick. We are opinionated , but we know what we like and what inspires us to buy, and isn't that the bottom line ?

I listened to the podcast. He seems to think that getting influencers on board and more broadcasts on social media will do the trick. He also mentions bringing back games and contests. None of that will work if the quality of the merchandise, shipping etc can't match other companies.

I listened too. It sounded like he wanted to bring back a lot of hokum like contests, etc. QVC tried that once and look what happened:

There is no magic bullet to boost Q sales. TV shopping has become the norm. There is a ton of competition w better prices and SUPERIOR S&H.
I used to love Laura Gellar products. No longer will pay $35 plus S&H for a blush, etc..
I'm glad others can afford. I cant. I found a beautiful Clinique cream blush at my local ULTA for $21.

I think the audience for TV shopping is shrinking, and I'm not sure it can ever return to its "glory days."
In the past, I watched a lot more and bought a fair amount. Now, there are so many options to purchase what I want or need, and I rarely tune in to QVC.
Nothing is going to change that for me and younger people are already accustomed to buying everything everywhere.

I listened to the podcast and it was very interesting. It almost seems like QVC is doomed. I am not on instragram or twitter, and never will be. I am not interested in "influencers." In fact, I find the whole idea of influencers to be dumb, while realizing that influencers have been around for a long time, whether we knew it or not. I have been shopping QVC for about 20 years, and do not remember any games or contests.
