I just got off the phone with customer service regarding an exchange. It was a set of the Valerie jewel candle rings. I wanted to exchange the silver for the green. By the way, they have had my return since about August 21. I used the Q label and it was my understanding that you are not charged the shipping indicated on the Q label IF you are exchanging. She told me because the green I wanted was no longer available that she would give full credit this one time as a courtesy. She said if the exchange can take place there is no shipping charge but if the item you want is no longer available, you will need to pay the return shipping cost.

I have never heard this. Has it happened to you? Is this a new policy?

Correct me if this is wrong, but I believe what they are trying to accomplish is netting one shipping fee per item and, in the case of exchange, one return fee.

If we were to keep the original item, the Q would still net 1 s/h fee and no return fee.

Re: Question regarding exchange

@QPrincess

The last sentence in QVC's own published policy here concerning exchanges seems pertinent to me.

What's your policy for exchanges?

If you're not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, our return policy allows you to send back returns-eligible merchandise within 30 days of the date you received the package for an exchange. Simply use the Q Return Label within 30 days of receipt to return your item for a free replacement of the same item in a different color or size. If your request for an exchange results in any additional merchandise or shipping costs, and you paid by credit card, your credit card will be charged for those additional costs. Payment methods other than a credit card may result in an order cancellation & a refund may be issued. If the requested exchange is no longer available, including items on waitlist and advance order, QVC will issue a refund and not deduct the Q Return Label fee.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post that. I had never been told that is the requested exchange item is no longer available, that you would be charged for the returned shipping printed on the Q return label. The representative said she would allow it one time as a courtesy. Thank goodness it appears she was misinformed.

I don't return a lot but when I request an exchange I have not been charged shipping for that exchange. She said you are charged when the requested item is no longer available.

Re: Question regarding exchange

This is my recent experience with 2 exchanges from/to  HSN--

Bought a pair of Colleen Lopez's earrings and didn't like the stone so I went online to the returns page and asked for an exchange for another pair. Got the ok and by the next day, it had been shipped to me. I then put in the necessary paperwork and sent the first pair back. It took less than a week to get the "new" earrings and then a week later, they had the "old" pair I sent back. Same with a blouse. I was charged s/h for each. And the time frame for the blouse was the same too.
